Brett:

I'm considering getting my CDL from Drivers Solutions. I came across your blog post about PAM at this link... Drivers Solutions CDL with PAM

According to your post under the heading The Cost Structure Of CDL Training With PAM Transport, you state...

After attending school, you will be required to remain with the company for one year. During that year you will pay $45 per week through payroll deduction to help pay for the schooling which equates to $2,340. However, at the end of one year you will be reimbursed $1,245, so the total cost for your schooling will be $1,095.

I can't seem to reconcile this with their information, which on either their Basic or Classic plans.

Basic is no up-front cost and says:

Driver Solutions has also designed a unique way for you to pay your $1,995 tuitiion. Once you are assigned your own truck, $45 will be deducted from your weekly paycheck and then deposited into your Employee Savings Account. You will accumulate approximately $2,025 in your account during your first year. Driver Solutions will apply $1,995 from the account toward your tuition and you will owe nothing else. Any leftover balance in your Employee Savings Account will be refunded to you.

Classic is pre-pay $495 and says the following:

Driver Solutions has also designed a unique way for you to pay your $1,995 tuitiion. Once you are assigned your own truck, $45 will be deducted from your weekly paycheck and then deposited into your Employee Savings Account. You will accumulate approximately $2,025 in your account during your first year from payroll deductions plus your $ 495 down payment for a total of approximately $2,520. Driver Solutions will apply $1,995 from the account toward your tuition and you will owe nothing else. Any leftover balance in your Employee Savings Account will be refunded to you (e.g. $2520 - 1,995 = $525 refund).

I'm considering opting for the Classic as it gets me a single room :), not to mention that it returns the $500 at the end of the year.

I'd rather go with your statement "...at the end of one year you will be reimbursed $1,245..."

Can you point out where this is quoted or referenced?

TIA - DA

Having just finished this program through Driver Solutions (though I went with USA Truck), I can affirm that what is listed on the Driver Solutions website is the most current. It is possible they changed their structure since Brett last received an update with them.

Indeed that must be the case. I'll check into that.
