Father lives in Vero Beach. I worry about him but have faith he will do the safe thing.

Well, I'm heading for Va. It needs to make a sharp right turn and head for open sea. But of course I don't have that luck.

Despite NHC predictions - still no idea where this is going...

I thought Trump was going to drop a Nuke on it. What happened to that idea??? And I wonder if it would work.

A - it wouldn't. B - he didn't say it, or if he did, he was joking.

Wouldn't disrupt the storm, but it would spread radioactivity far and wide.

I was bringing a load from Commerce,CA to Miami with a stop in Pensacola. Everything was going fine until I got to Pensacola. Was told that no loads were going to be coming in or going out, especially with the Labor Day Weekend. Then was told that I had to take it down to Miami regardless, however I would be on my own as far as getting out (deadheading with no pay). Even Safety was pushing to go down there saying that oh you have plenty of time to get down there and get up to Atlanta, before the stalling.

Dispatch called this morning asking me if I am still going to take it down there since the holiday weekend is over, told them find someone else who cares more about making $$$$ for the company over their safety.

Deadhead:

To drive with an empty trailer. After delivering your load you will deadhead to a shipper to pick up your next load.

Last I saw this morning, Dorian is not going to make landfall anywhere in Florida. Unless of course it turns again to the west, which is unlikely at this point. The east coast will still have some strong weather, but I wouldn't anticipate it being anything near what the Bahamas is getting hit with.

Just bought my first house near Columbia,SC... That thing can take it's butt right back out to sea.
