First off, I'm new here. Anyways, a little background. I'm a retired LEO who has been driving on and off for 28 years legally. My lovely wife of 18 years and a nurse of 20 turned in her notice this past week and has decided to go to CDL school at the beginning of Nov. and team with me. Anyways, I have never trucked with a female so I was wanting to know what her and I need to know what to prepare for female wise. Thanks for you advice in advance.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Hi Wren! It's funny cause I was just editing a YouTube video about hygiene, using a commode on the truck, and even cosmetics. The vibration of the trucks break my powder makeup apart, and the heat melts the creme make up. We can buy most things at Walmart, but I personally think showering is the most important part for women (especially if still getting a monthly cycle). I hate to smell. Walmart has "Assurance" brand wipes with the Depends in the incontinence aisle. There are SO MUCH thicker and bigger than any baby wipe on the market. I even use them to clean the truck. Bottles like shampoo that push up, rather than screw on, explode from the air pressure in the mountains... not cool. Instead of shaving, I bought a package at European Wax Center which is nationwide. Much easier to get my hair yanked once a month LOL

Was there something in particular you needed to know? Good luck at Carolina btw.

Oh this is helpful for me too, a good reminder not to bring makeup, I don't want it to be destroyed. Good to know about the shampoo too. What's your video link?
