I haven't delivered to that specific place but I have delivered to the underground caverns in Carthage, Missouri. Now that place was just gorgeous. I arrived at 2100 and there was a light rain, almost like a mist. My wife was with me and it just took our breathe away. It definitely wasn't as tight as you described. (That's what she said)
I have never gone into the tunnels...and you couldn't make me go...This old lady doesn't do enclosed places..Sometimes the sleeper was to small...
This is a video I made the first time I went into one of those caves. I have several interesting vids on my you tube channel.
I went into the tunnels when I was with a trainer, with my first company.

I can't remember which ones I delivered to but that is one awesome experience! Like Daniel said, when you first see the tunnel you think, "No way!!!! This is crazy!!!!" And it is! But it's great.
I once drove to a place in Wampum Pa that was an old limestone quarry or something like that inside a mountain. The truck barley fit height wise lol. It was cool in there and smelled like a farmhouse basement, pretty cool place. It was converted to a warehouse.

Anyone done a delivery to the underground caverns in Independence, MO?
I could not believe this place. I was picking up a load of pharmaceuticals and turns out I had to drive into a hole going under a mountain. Never thought I was going to make it out of that place alive.
When I first saw that entrance I was thinking no way could a truck go down here but sure enough a few minutes later I see them start trickling out. I had to dive half a mile down these tunnels with barely over a foot of space on my sides at the turns it seemed. Then to top it all off there was an alley dock at the end that I have no idea how I managed to back up to.
I think there are a bunch of videos on youtube other drivers going through this place with the same reaction.
