He thinks you might be an infamous troll to this forum, who appears to be hanging out in Georgetown, Texas lately, under a kinder gentler incarnation.

For reasons I won't disclose, you appear to be a real person.

Rob.

Fair enough. We want to help, but it might help us if you'd tell us about these companies you "don't trust." We are wondering why someone who has only been looking into this for two days has such opinions formed already. Help us out so we know where your comments are coming from.

It may seem like a waste of time to help someone who may or not be a troll, but the truth is somebody may get enjoyment out of THINKING they're wasting our time by fooling us, however there are several people who may have a similar question now, or will find a thread in the future as we're helping them too. However, I disagree with thinking that person is the same. If it is, so be it. It doesnt change my replies to them as many people may not have even thought of asking a question.

I guess my advice would be try to start this with a clean slate. You have no way of verifying the things you've heard. Trucking is very much an individual sport. Your effort and results will determine your success. It's very much a performance based career.

The onus is on the driver, so that's where you must focus. Let's just assume you heard some drivers mention some companies like Swift, J.B. Hunt, or whoever - you fill in the blank. It means nothing. Any average to poor driver could be running their mouth about their bad experience with one of those companies. Bad trucking experiences almost always implicate the driver, but you have no way of knowing that. Most of the companies that you think shouldn't be trusted are probably rock solid outfits with thousands of very satisfied drivers.

Your professional, clear, respectful, and frank advice, as evidenced by your post above, is one reason why I make sure to read your posts. I have learned so much from you on this forum, as well as others. Thank you for taking the time out of your demanding schedule to contribute.

I found a ton of information reading old threads on this forum, many were from on hit wonders and other dubious posters. And I was also accused of being the infamous troll, by some staff here. It could have run me off, but I needed information that is here.

There is no staff here SD...other than the owner of Trucking Truth, Brett, we all volunteer our time. The thought of you trolling the forum was very short-lived and culminated with Brett notifying every Moderator that you were legitimate. Let's be fair about this...we get Trolled frequently and many of us exercise caution with new folks that post with similar patterns of the known offenders.

Peace.
