My first day of PSD began with a 7AM roll call remembering on time is late. We were told what was expected of us and what to expect. Finish CBT'S by Wednesday evening. That anyone that finished the videos first night skipped them and will be ask to retake them. Then we were handed our safety books and informed of the paperwork we were to sign. Contract, address info for permit, agreement we received books and refill out employment applications and the information better match original. Then medical came in and we filled out a detailed list of everything going back to pretty much birth. Medicine, surgery, broken bones, allergies, you name it or take it they wanna know about it. Then we were separated into groups to take physical, BP, and urine sugar test. Then integrity interview to review application info for work history, criminal history, and references. Group letters decided rest of week SIM lab schedule. Do CBT'S every free chance you get I was up till they closed the training room doing them. I did not eat because I had to do agility for flatbed. Move crates, lift weights above shoulder, climb ladder, lift a blue tarp onto and off a 6 ft shelf then get onto each knee then hold a push up position then another medical review there. Sounds like a lot was a big day I remember being nervous and was too busy to worry about home just focusing on completing goal's assigned. I kept remembering what Turtle told me. Come prepared and complete everything as soon as possible and it will calm down after a day or two. He was so right I had worried into a frenzy for no reason. Focused and did what I came to do finished everything by Tuesday afternoon and then had a lot of free time between morning roll call and SIM labs for the rest of the week. Expect first day to be so busy you forget everything but what you're next assigned task is. Finish those CBT'S and it gets really calm on day two. BTW sleep when its calm because on the trucks its harder to do than in the hotel room.
