MillionMiler i do not know how the system works on getting hooked up with trainer but if i am allowed to request a trainer i would most definitely request you. Is there anyway to do a private chat or some way to exchange emails and or numbers on this site. I would like to give you my info but dont want to break any site policies here.

Brett what’s the rules when it comes to this?

All you guys need to do is send Brett an email asking him to share your email address with the other member. Once he's done that you guys can contact each other and that keeps your information private.

We had to stop the private message feature because people were abusing it.

Put something in the subject heading on your email to Brett that helps him recognize what it's about. That helps him sort through and respond quicker.

Steveo hopfully one of those bodies will be mine by this time next week. Safe travels and keep up the good work. So glad to hear about your experiences and in a positive light. I am feeling positive about my choice to go with CRST. And at my age (58) there are not a whole lot of new career changes that i would want to do. This is the one thing i have always secretly wanted to do since i was old enough to drive. And with the support of my loving wife i am getting closer to the attaining that dream

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Finally made it back to the Riverside terminal.....Met my DM in Cedar Rapids while there as well....Seems like good enough guy, told him to keep us rolling as much as possible.......Got the keys to my truck 2018 fruitloop with 400k on the clock.....Seems whoever had it before got tossed quick. Foubd there trash near a full case of water etc......Little dirty but not too bad aside from bad food in fridge since Oct. 20th according to last QC messages......which i deleted all so I start fresh after few days hometime...

Hahaha I told my DM with my 40 years mechanical experience I plan to check this truck out thoroughly before use......He said he'd expect nothing else lol.......Seems like a nice enough guy so far......Dropped a XPO expedited load in Sacramento terminal from Iowa......Then we drove deadhead here. Driver (21 yr old)......seems like pretty mature kid for his age with a good attitude and work ethic already.....So he snatched up his co driver here and off they went......to get back in their groove....

Deadhead:

To drive with an empty trailer. After delivering your load you will deadhead to a shipper to pick up your next load.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Sounds like things are going good for Steveo so glad to hear (read) about your experiences. Setting in my room at CRST in Cedar Rapids. First day of orientation tomorrow. Hoping to meet MillionMiler24 sometime tomorrow. This is the first day in the last 3 weeks that i can actually relax and take a breath and let the fact that i have achieved something that i had always dreamed about sink in. Its truly a great feeling.. now the real learning begins. Steveo keep up the good work and please keep sharing your experiences with us...it is nice to see that with the right attitude and work ethics that this is a great way to make a great living.
