Quick question for you or anyone else that drives for Walmart: If you are going to just be a local, home every night driver, do you still have to travel to Arkansas or wherever they are having that training these days, or is that only for Regional or long haul guys?
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.
These days, they are doing the initial onboarding at a regionalized DC near wherever you are. So although you won't likely have to go to Arkansas, you'll still have to travel to wherever the onboarding is being held near you and spend the week, unless you live close enough to onboarding to go home every night.

I'm not sure how they're doing it in Smyrna. I don't get there very often. We still have many manuals in the fleet, so I'd guess you'd test out in one also.
