Dave's request...
Also, to G-Town. I would like to schedule that ride along with you sometime after Thanksgiving if possible. Not sure how to get in touch with you directly since there is no private message option through this site
Thanks
This is in play now... rider paperwork was submitted today, takes 3-5 business days for approval.
Our plan is for Dave to meet me at 7030 about 0630 (exact time TBD) on Sunday 12/29. I'll walk him through tractor PTI, hooking/connecting the loaded trailer, trailer PTI, departure macros, e-log settings, scaling, etc... I'll try to get a "juicy", multi-stop run so he can see what a typical day is like. Perhaps delivering to stores in his Delco neighborhood...we'll see.
BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:
It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.
I can think of no better way for someone considering a driving career to spend a day.
Even if it's with you, G-Town!

Coming from you,...I'll consider that a compliment. LOL.
I Love You Man!
I feel what you're doing should be required by companies before any perspective hire can apply.
I feel very lucky I found this site and was given this opportunity, I know not too many people get the chance to see what its really like before heading to training. I agree with you Packrat, I’m sure theres a good amount of people who show up at training, see how much more there is then just driving the truck and go home. Wasting their time and the companies.
I had the wrong idea before finding this site, I was going to go to a private school and try to get a local, home every night job. I would have been screwed! Most likely would have been out the $$$ for school and heading to company training anyway. Or worse, somehow hired locally, thrown into the fire with very little experience and bound to make career affecting mistakes.
Thanks again G-Town, looking forward to hitting the road with you
Dave you are in for a real treat. G will give you the up close and personal grand tour. That is an opportunity very very few get coming into this industry. Enjoy it.
Thanks PJ, I will enjoy it. I can tell by G’s posts and blogs that he is on top of the game. He is exactly the kind of person I would like to learn the ropes from. Thankfully we are both from the same area and he is generous to take the time out of his busy schedule to show/teach me some basics so I can make an educated decision on this career move.
You're in for a treat Dave, enjoy it and take it all in. On my ride along, I asked G-Town if I could drive and he said no. Doesn't hurt to ask lol.
I went in thinking I want to do this and came out knowing that I want to do this. I'm excited to hear about your perspective and how it all goes.
Before going, I recommend thinking about questions you may have. The feedback you get on this site is always spot on, but nothing beats getting to ask a question in person and being able to ask some follow up questions.
Have fun out there and keep us posted.
Operating While Intoxicated
I have had lots of questions pop into my head over last few weeks, most stuck, some faded away. I should start writing em down.

Thanks Dave. It came through earlier today. I’ll be in touch...
