Was offered a dedicated route , Aurora Parts. Half drop and hook , half live load/unload and home 2 days a week. Wondering if anyone has any experience with this account and can give any pointers?
Do you currently drive for SNI? Did they train you? Private school / freshly minted? Just wondering...might have some bearing on input from the drivers here.
From what we hear here in the Buckeye, that's a pretty decent route; especially if you are already on board with Schneider. Cincy isn't my favorite place (at all!) in Ohio... but we are 'local' Buckeyes here and.. perhaps some of the SNI guys will pitch in?!?
Hope you enjoyed your Holidays, either way. Post more information (and complete the bio in your profi) so the seasoned vets on here can perhaps pitch in more.
Best to you, Anne
A driver or carrier who transports cargo between regular, prescribed routes. Normally it means a driver will be dedicated to working for one particular customer like Walmart or Home Depot and they will only haul freight for that customer. You'll often hear drivers say something like, "I'm on the Walmart dedicated account."
Drop and hook means the driver will drop one trailer and hook to another one.
In order to speed up the pickup and delivery process a driver may be instructed to drop their empty trailer and hook to one that is already loaded, or drop their loaded trailer and hook to one that is already empty. That way the driver will not have to wait for a trailer to be loaded or unloaded.

Thanks for the reply Anne. Been hauling steel, driving for a family friend. He is getting out of trucking and selling everything. Been checking out some trucking companies to see what is out there. I've applied to Schneider, TMC and Maverick. Schneider tried talking me into tanker, but been there done that. They offered me the Aurora Parts. Maverick offered a dedicated glass route. Just have to make up my mind.
Hope you enjoyed the holidays as well and have a safe and happy new year.

Thanks again, Steve~!
Yeah, I hear you about the tanker gig(s). Hubby and I pulled tanks for an O/O about 5 years ago, for a few good years. We hauled asphalt all over the Buckeye state, out of Shelly in Toledo. BTDT is right, LoL. He's back to hauling 'boxes in boxes' working for the same company that Don, on here, works for.
We have had a few Maverick guys on here with nothing but good things to say, TBH. Type it as well as TMC in the search bar above. I think Army's son drives for TMC, and Andhe78 for Maverick; not sure about the glass division but we hear good things when I ride with the hubby.
With your background and experience, have you looked into Transport National? Not sure where you are in Ohio, but they have hubs in Cincy and Youngstown.
Keep us posted; always great to 'see' a new 'face' on TT, for sure!
