Awesome, congrats Marc!
Congrats and good luck to you.
Tell us about the job. Some of us appreciate the details!
Nice! I've never heard of them before, I'd like to hear more too
So here's what I know (or think I know)...
About 170 drivers. Self-insured / part of an insurance "captive" so they decide whom to hire. They require a CDL but train at any level of experience.
Orientation is 3 days, starts on Mondays. Show them what you know and what you don't and go out with a trainer. Typically 200 hours, credit for what you know... more time if needed. They have a yard and a couple of rigs for backing. If I need a week there they will give it to me.
Startss at 39 cpm , approximately 5 cpm in attainable bonuses paid quarterly. 2 cpm raises every 6 months.
Run mostly Central and Eastern US. All refer. Western States run mostly team. No forced Dispatch. NYC bonus. Detention and accessorial pay...
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.
Congratulations Marc.
AND I'm offering a little friendly competition wager. I plan to start Prime on March 23.
The first person to make 100,000 miles, solo driving, buys the other one dinner!
You've a big head start already with having been accepted by a company. AND you've only got 200 hours of training. I haven't even been accepted, and even if I do, I got PSD and then 50,000 miles of TNT.
Are you game?
Prime Inc has a CDL training program and the first phase is referred to as PSD. You'll get your permit and then 10,000 miles of on the road instruction.
Prime’s PSD begins with you obtaining your CDL permit. Then you’ll go on the road with a certified CDL instructor for no less than 75 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training. After training, you’ll return to Prime’s corporate headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, for final CDL state testing and your CDL license.
Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.
The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.
The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14¢ per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.
Sounds awesome Marc. I see their trucks running around occasionally. Good luck and keep us updated.
Congratulations Marc.

You two get 100K combined, and dinner for us is on me.
Make it happen!
