Forgot to say I'm leading with Prime inc.
Gutsy move starting with a lease. Good luck! I’ll be happy to let whatever company i go with pay the expenses. Lol.
If you don’t mind me asking. What made you go that route?
Man, I’m company and reefer only thing I can tell u is listen carefully in that class. U aren’t committed to anything yet! Once u complete the class , u have to get a truck , inspect it, and then sign the lease.
A refrigerated trailer.
I'm a sink or swim kinda guy plus have a ton of family all lease ops with prime and do EXTREMELY well, I also have a close friend who is company and I've seen his checks and I'm not willing to be away from my family for months at a time for what I've seen he makes, just a personal choice.
There is a kiosk in the lease room, has different trucks to look at. Find one u like they will give u the keys to check it out. If it’s the one! They will give u an inspection sheet. Inspect it carefully, then u turn sheet into shop. They will fix any problems. U will sign off that every thing is good . Also if u want extras like refrigerator or whatever get that done as well . All that’s left is to sign lease.
Good luck. The ACE II leasing class is 8 hours and even available on the phone app.
Because people falsly brag about how.much they make, i have videos that break down the lease ops pay settlements over 3 years... and compare it to being a company driver. My pay stubs are on my videos too.
Believe it or not.. when all is said and done we are pretty even... except.. company drivers go home every month and lease ops go home every 3 mos. We have benefits and workmemds comp, and they dont. we have 401k they dont.
you wont believe me. that is fine. your friend may be a bum. and why is he staying out for months???
No one will tell you about the $10,000 negligenxe fee or the responsibility for paying a freight claim.go to claims and ask them so you believe it. Not all cargo damage is covered by the insurance.... only accidents. Not all accidents are covered 100% due to your own negligence.
last week a guy had to pay $54,000 cause he didnt wash a trailer out and the whole.load was considered contaminated. that is what you deal.with being a lease op.
The only important number on the lease settlement is "Income & Expense Cash Flow Statement". That is your profit before taxes. then deduct taxes... and realize the lack of benefits.
all the other numbers are fluff.
I have Youtube videos explaining this stuff with actual statements.
Consider This! Proof of what a Lease Op Makes
"Friends Don't Let Friends Fall For The Lease Con".
Don't do it! The odds are completely stacked against you. What's the benefit for ALL of the risks? 5 cents more per mile?
Sink or swim kind of guy? You'll need three life preservers.
Think about this. Why do companies allow, push for, sometimes beg for lease ops? If they made more profit from a company driver they would not be offering a lease. They make the profit, the driver “leaser” is taking all the risk. The “potential” is there to make more money, but is the risk worth a “potential” reward?

Thank you Donna!
