Great update, Moe.
Stick with it because God helps those that help themselves.
Once you update your state of residence, are you going to do a company sponsored training program?
A Company-Sponsored Training Program is a school that is owned and operated by a trucking company.
The schooling often requires little or no money up front. Instead of paying up-front tuition you will sign an agreement to work for the company for a specified amount of time after graduation, usually around a year, at a slightly lower rate of pay in order to pay for the training.
If you choose to quit working for the company before your year is up, they will normally require you to pay back a prorated amount of money for the schooling. The amount you pay back will be comparable to what you would have paid if you went to an independently owned school.
Company-sponsored training can be an excellent way to get your career underway if you can't afford the tuition up front for private schooling.
I actually have a trainer in WA who is willing to work with me for free to pass the state skill test. It was only the 90 degree alley doc that got me, once I nail that I'll have the CDL.
I'm looking into May Trucking for my first OTR.

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

The shorter the trailer, the quicker it turns.
What I did when I went from 53' reefers to 40' cans, was to make slower, smaller movements. It took a couple weeks to get it down :-P
Laura
A refrigerated trailer.
Definitely , it really is only angled backing that I have issues with, straight backing is okay , passable and offset is easy once you get lined up it becomes a straight back.
Its solely the angled backing, I drove well in school and did pretrip and airbrakes just fine.
Thank you for your reply.
The battle so far is overcoming ky failure in january and nailing this in march so I can get to work...

Working on the CDL permit test for WA state, refreshing my memory from the study sides here on the site and using DMV genie. I have also been putting hours into American Truck Simulator, you laugh if you want but the backing in the game mirrors real life (almost, not 100 percent obviously).
Who makes the American Truck Simulator? There's a number of different ones....several with good ratings and a number with average ratings.

I have much better success doing the 90 degree alley docks with the 53s than the 28 pops, me and those 28 pups just dont get along for some reason...
Anyway,I am still plugging away at things. Once my residency billing address is updated on my utilities and I get the first bill off to WA DMV i go.
