CT. in the house!
Yo turtle! Been too long man. Idk about you but I still get that urge to strap or chain something occasionally lol.
Yeah man flatbed was a calling and I do miss it often. But then I think about how easy I have it now and I'm like "nah, I'm good"

Saw this on a millis facebook group and thought of you Turtle.
This was at the Shelby NC DC. Does walmart run a flatbed fleet for the summer or is this probably a drop for another carrier?
I've seen a few flatbeds with WM logos at different DCs up here too. I don't know what they're plan is with them. I'd run one for them for sure.

Don't you 'itch' for the flatbed lifestyle, Turtle? I mean, according to YOU and Old School, it's more of a lifestyle than just trucking, overall! Just wondering. Nothing my hubby ever cared for, anyway...just did it out of necessity when asphalt was cold. Just me; thinking out loud, that if you wanted to 'uptick' your game that you excelled at (I mean, I know WMPF is golden) ... did you ever think about H/H (heavy haul?)
Also, Cheyenne ... not to hijack your thread; I really DO hope you stop back! I've got intel for ya... I WAS that very pregnant, when my husband WAS OTR. Good thing was, he was running teams, for FX/LH and his necessary time off was preplanned via the contractor he hauled for. He took 5 weeks off driving, and boy I needed him; so glad he did. I went to MANY a doctor's appointment alone, and NEVER complained, cried, or stressed on the phone (we had a 4 y/o daughter at home w/ me as well...this was '03.) I internalized so much; I wouldn't want to be that woman again....it was SO hard on me, to be 'perfect' for him, with all the stress and emotion. It's do'able, sure. Easy? Hail No. And I was mid to late 30's, with our son; our 2nd kiddo. Had my husband not already been driving, and HAD his CDL prior, I dunno. I just don't know. A man's mind needs to be SO FRESH AND CLEAN from ANY detractors while he's learning...not just through school and OJT, but..everything. Finances, everything. I wish y'all the best; if I can help further, reply here and I will comment.
C.T., it sure IS great to see you back around. I miss your input, as do the others. Stop back more often, and let us know about the NEW gig a bit more, would ya?
Be safe, all~!

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

I had to emerge from the shadows to comment on this. I started my career at the beginning of her pregnancy. I was fortunate enough to be home for the birth and got a week or so home afterwards. I don't have personal experience with CRE but if he's in rhe middle of cdl training it will be tough for him to get home and be take time off once the baby comes. Since you're so far along, it may be a better idea to hold off the career until you're settled with the baby. The stress and anxiety is high enough when entering the industry and knowing you've got a baby on the way will only add to it. I experienced it first hand. Sure I was extra determined because I had a family counting on me but it was a ton of pressure. So again, I suggest you wait till after the baby is fat and happy at home then go from there.
