I don't know much in the way of details about the company but they've been around forever. I'm sure if their home time, pay, benefits, and all that stuff jives with what you're looking for it should be a fine place to work.
I know I see some of their daycab drivers around NYC/NJ pulling pup trailers that say VISIT MONTANA on them with pictures of beautiful scenery. I think we have 1 or 2 people on the forum who currently drive for them, cannot remember who though.
Rick, Watkins Shephard is a good solid company. You may have to do some unloading with them, but that just means extra pay for whatever you do. Here's a link to another thread we had a while back on this subject. Be sure and follow the link that Tracy gives in his response and you will find a lot of valuable information that way.
We were leased to WS for almost 4 years...and we have absolutely no complaints. We still have a few friends who are either company drivers and a few O'O's...The O'O's are having some issues..( they always do...opinionated bunch that they are)..but the company drivers I talk with regularly are very happy...
Thanks for the reply's. Sorry it took so long for me to respond but as some of you may know, we here in the Charlotte area of NC have been paralyzed by 8-10" of snow....HaHa!! No seriously, my internet has been down for a couple of days, I have a smart phone but it's too aggravating for me to go online and try to see that little screen....Thanks again, I've checked out the links and the threads from Tracy, I'm hearing the same things here that I've heard from all the others I've talked to....

I'm scheduled to finish school in mid March. I have applied to Watkins & Shepard Trucking after hearing good reports from current and former drivers. I was shocked to receive a phone call just one day after submitting my application. I talked with a recruiter in Montana, he said everything looked great on my application and could I report to the Conover N.C. Terminal on March 24th for orientation. Anyone on here familiar with this company? Just doing all the research I can before committing to anyone.
Terminal:
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
BMI:

BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:
It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.
