What Does A Quarantine Due To Coronavirus Mean For Truckers?

True... I'm trying to stay non-political with my response to this madness, but there's certainly a political twist intertwined in this whole thing.

I also have tried to avoid a political take on this, but it is hard to ignore.

The idiots who have been crying wolf for the last 4 years continue to do so, despite the fact that each time there has been no wolf and fewer and fewer people are listening to them. Therefore, in addition to the harm they are doing to the community, they are hurting themselves. They fail to understand that the attention they get from many of those who look at them when they cry wolf, are doing so out of scorn not trust.

For those of you in New York, I have a load going up there for monday morning. I know cuomo has issued orders of 50 percent work force reduction and shelter in place. I asked them to double check with the rec’r to ensure they will take the load. It is going to oakfield, between Buffalo and Rockport. What are the chances I may get stuck sitting on this load??

Last i seen he has made it 75% work force reduction now except for “essentials” so i guess itll depend on what your hauling and how “essential” it is i have fellow trucking friends definately being affected here in ny

He just made it 100% of nonessential businesses

Brett, I agree that this situation doesn't warrant burning the yard for a weed. But that is my point. I think they are trying to orchestrate a financial crisis to undo what they have done over the last 30+ years. The world cannot recover from 350% debt to gdp. Then up pops this virus which gives them perfect cover to manipulate it into something else. That's why I think the Fed is using the absolute worst timing for stimulus announcements possible (notice after the first terrible response to rate cuts, he did the exact same thing again but with bigger numbers). His purpose is to make things worse. Same with the worlds various central banks. No one is coordinating, everyone is making things more chaotic. At best, it is incompetence (which actually might be the case). At worst, there will be a reset of the debts of the world. The BIS (Bank of International Settlements) that I mentioned before has said that the only solution to the mountains of debt the world has taken on is a "debt jubilee." Once they head down that road, its easy to envision a single currency for the globe. "To prevent this from happening again" will be their justification, more than likely. Then the social engineering can get really crazy. Microchips (like the swedish are currently doing), cashless society (like India is doing, Singapore too, hell even UK is doing it to a lesser degree). Mark my words, they are going to work to make this worse before it gets better. Too good of an opportunity to let pass to further their financial agenda.

I'd be leery of that Monday delivery, if I were you. Let us know what happens (or doesn't!)

Thanks Jeremy. I have asked they double check with the customer up there. I don’t have the load info yet but I know the shipper and it will be a paper plant or toilet paper plant.

So much of this is just political pandering. Governor Cuomo of New York just ordered all non-essential businesses to close. Whether that's even legal or not, I'm not sure, but he said:

“We're going to take it to the ultimate step. We're going to close the valve. We're going to put New York on PAUSE:

Policies that
Assure
Uniform
Safety for
Everyone

I want to be able to say to the people of New York — I did everything we could do,” Cuomo said. “And if everything we do saves just one life, I’ll be happy.”

Great. Everything you're doing will destroy our standard of living and economic prosperity for the next 10 years, but that sound bite makes it all worth it I guess.

My conspiracy theory is that everyone is a conspiracy theorist.
