But what is the end goal
Only thing I could think of is hurting China and putting India in China's place. The Chinese weren't willing to play ball with the new trade deal. India is. The world economy suffers and they pull business from China and give it to India. China no longer has that card to play.
Well it is official. I’m heading to ny in the morning. My customer is an essential business. We’ll see how it goes. I’m not a fear monger, but I am a cautious person.

Good luck PJ and keep up posted.
As to the "end game" of this whole circus, while I definitely believe in nefarious governmental manipulation (Google "CIA Animal Farm"), after all of this is said and done, I think most of the populace who votes in November will realize that this was just politics. And they will be very angry voters.
BTW, as far as the states that have issued the "shelter-in-place" order the Democratic candidate for president would pretty much have to murder Oprah AND Michelle Obama to lose to Trump.
Thanks Rob, we will be cautious but get the job done.
The terminal manager called me personally. This is a new customer. So new I will be delivering their 3rd load. It has a few challenges he talked with me about and thanked me over and over for helping them out.
There are alot of moving parts at this company. Bottom line is I’m pretty much freelancing within the company. That sounds weird I know. They have the corporate side and an affilate side. I’m assigned to corporate, but being a fleet owner I have alot of latitude. That has been developed over many years. I have been pulling loads for the affilate’s instead of corporate since last october. It is very unorthadox but works for me.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
Youll be good upstate isnt hit to hard yet anyway and the thruway has been empty
It's becoming very obvious that this was all premeditated. Richard Burr, a senator in the intelligence committee, sold off a large portion of his stocks back in February. They all knew this was the plan all along.
I can't speak for anyone in the House or Senate, but I have a decent amount in a 457 from my previous career. In January, when the Chicom virus was reported in Taiwan (interesting that the pro-democracy protesters are ALL gone now, isn't it) I started moving money in my 457 from stocks/real estate / international to the stable 1.2% bond type thing. If people were watching, they could see the potential. So, I'm guilty of insider trading or being part of the conspiracy, I guess. This was BEFORE the tyrdlies in DaCesspool caught on. This is not a political thread, so I shall keep it free of that.
How many of you are aware that the ChiCom gummint has been advocating ElectroMagnetic attacks on US military vessels (ships and aircraft) in the region? I know many suspect our government of complicity in the virus, I suspect rather that they are trying to keep us panicked at home, while the military quietly gets ready for a war with the Horde.
YAMMD. Peace.
A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).
It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.
Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.
But what is the end goal
Towards that it's interesting to compare what's happening in the U.S. to the response in South Korea. South Korea had a lot more skin in the game when the last two coronaviruses jumped to humans, which had mortality rates of up to three times and fifteen times higher than this one. Staring down the barrel of that kicked their healthcare system and their emergency response system into high gear.
They're on a completely different trajectory than us at this point, and they never had to resort to ordering restaurants and businesses shut or locking down cities or coping with panicked citizens emptying supermarkets. They took it seriously from the start and had the tools and the competence and the intent in place beforehand.
It's like we're reenacting 'The Ant and the Grasshopper' and the irony is all summer we watched the minstrels tell us 'winter is coming'. Since we've had relatively no preparation for following through with widespread and comprehensive testing and contract tracing, we're seeing much more primitive methods of control at the hand of federal and state governments that can't admit they never prepared for a well-known and inevitable threat. It's like if a field doctor shrugged off the idea they needed to pack their scapel and, knowing they'd get fired if they didn't try to save the patient's life, decided to take out a sledgehammer to both the patient and the patient's family.
Operating While Intoxicated
Illinois is supposed to have a press conference at 3 Central supposedly implementing a new stay at home order. My guess is similar to those in effect in California and New York.
Yep - 'non-essential' stay at home. Absolute mayhem is about to ensue.
Fortunately, we'll be out there on the hiways and biways, witnessing. Hopefully from afar.
Thanks Jermey, I’ll be heading up tomorrow afternoon.

That's the multi-trillion-dollar question. Possibly a terrifying one. I still believe it's basically a fire drill to prepare for the real thing someday. I expect by the end of next week we'll hear an announcement about a viable vaccine and as we get into early April things will relax and begin getting back to normal. That's my guess. We'll see.
