Acronyms always make me feel better:
DOT
FMCSA
PD
NTSB
DMV....
The CSA is a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) initiative to improve large truck and bus safety and ultimately reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities that are related to commercial motor vehicle
The FMCSA was established within the Department of Transportation on January 1, 2000. Their primary mission is to prevent commercial motor vehicle-related fatalities and injuries.
What Does The FMCSA Do?
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.

When I was a kid I rode around with my 2 brothers in the back seat of my parents' Ford while they smoked up a storm with the windows tightly shut.
There is thought to be a correlation to the asthmatic history I had while living in that household.
So, with that in mind, I wondering about the idea regarding where rights of one begin and end vs. another.
On another note: it's very easy to criticize (lots of interesting and thoughtful criticism in multiple threads here, last few days). How about solutions or alternatives along with dissection of what's wrong?
I know these are simplistic, classic, maybe cliche type ponderings on my part but I'm left unsatisfied with some of what I read due to these fundamental deficits.
Directing this broadly, to be clear, not to any particular post or poster here.
President Donald Trump on Sunday announced he is deploying the National Guard to California, New York and Washington state
The state governors will retain command of the National Guard, but the Federal Emergency Management Agency [FEMA] will cover all costs of the missions to respond to the outbreak, the president said during a press briefing
Here they come......right on time. I said early last week there would be military in the streets before this is over.
In 20 minutes our home quarantine in New York begins. My friend, who is working an "essential job," has a letter from the Government giving permission to leave the house to go to work. God bless America, home of the free. We need government permission to leave our homes or go to work or run a business or visit a friend.
People ask me, "Why would the Government do this if this virus wasn't that serious? Why would they want to tank the economy?" Well here's an interesting thought:
President Donald Trump said Thursday he would consider having the federal government take equity stakes in companies accepting federal aid in a bailout geared toward blunting the economic impact from the widening coronavirus outbreak.
When asked by a reporter whether he supports the government taking an equity stake in certain companies, he responded: “I do. I really do.”
So the government tanks the economy and then takes an ownership stake in the largest, most powerful companies when they're on the ropes. But they do this after the stock market crashes, of course, so equity shares are insanely cheap. Then, once the stock market rises again they have a choice - sell their shares at massive profits or keep the shares and have partial ownership and control of our most critical companies.
Just a thought.
In my county the sherrif asked people not to unnecessrily go out in public but will not issue tickets were still allowed to fish hike hunt excercise and what not just use common sense and keep our distance from others
Here's an interesting fact. I just received an email from the Buffalo News. Erie County, NY, the county Buffalo is in, has a population of 925,000. Here is a quote from the Buffalo News:
Erie County isn't just seeing a rise in Covid-19 cases, but a rise in hospitalizations. As of Sunday afternoon, Health Commissioner Dr. Gale Burstein reported 11 county residents have been hospitalized. Three are in intensive care.
"We are seeing a higher level of acuity as the disease epidemic progresses through our community," Burstein said.
ELEVEN PEOPLE????
ELEVEN people are in the hospital out of almost a million in the county and we're under home quarantine, all non-essential businesses are ordered closed, and the National Guard is on its way.
11 people are in the hospital and the Health Commissioner says we have to be on high alert as the "disease epidemic progresses through our community"
More people are in the hospital because of a boo boo on their elbow most likely.

I know! I was just telling a friend a little while ago that more people are in the hospital for falling down the stairs than that!

For those interested in Modern Monetary Theory, which I'm just learning about myself, this is really good:
I have yet to look into the idea of a single global currency, but I will be doing that also. It seems the dollar would become that currency if it were to happen, but I don't know enough about it to have a meaningful opinion.
