People are getting nuttier by the day. I’m still in cali. My trailer is stagged and hopefully loaded this morning. The plant in Hayward has no parking around it, so we got a motel room. Again the lobby is closed and amenities are shutdown. The employee’s are all wearing masks. Which I guess is a good precaution. I don’t know. I was told when I pickup my trailer to stay in the truck and they will come to me. We ordered takeout and had to do it online. Then they texted me and told me the food was set in front of the door. The delivery person was like a little rabbit getting away from the door after he knocked on it. I’m about ready to get a load home and take some time off.

Yeah, it's all building up. Every day it's rows of coffins, exploding growth charts, and dire warnings that millions of people could die in the U.S. alone. Most people will take the news at face value and buy-in. It doesn't seem to dawn on anyone that barely 3,000 people have died when they said it could be millions.
Of course, our politicians will claim it's because we took such powerful actions to stop the spread, but it's been found in every state in the country and we've only tested 132,000 people nationwide out of 327 million, which is only 1 out of every 2,500 people. So imagine how many people REALLY have it but haven't been tested, don't have symptoms, or have already gotten over it? So have they stopped it from spreading, saving millions of lives? I don't see any data to suggest that's the case.
I talk with my mom every day on the phone and I tell her the same things I report here on the website. She's always shocked at how the information I give her is the opposite of what she's hearing on the news. She's always like, "I don't know what to believe." I keep telling her the information is out there in plain sight but no one is looking for it. No one is digging for the truth or trying to get an objective perspective on what's really happening. They just listen to the news and take it at face value.
I have to admit I was never that way. I'm not one to believe anything until I can verify it myself. So I'll continue to dig through the numbers and report what I find. At least that will give people a different perspective and more information to consider for themselves.
Very very true Brett, the media isn’t concerned with facts and truth. Haven’t been for decades now. I will watch some, but not much. I can only take so much of their narratives. I do like Hannity, he is as close to honest as I think it gets in the media, but even his narratives have to be taken for what they are, american media agenda’s

Your mom comes from an era where the news was the source of information. Wake up in the morning, read the paper and watch the evening news at night. Some habits don't age well. Today, news programming is about trying to go viral and ratings.
It was also a time when people didn't discuss politics or religion. I can't get through a day without hearing about politics. Even the late night shows have to give their input. Hell, it's the highlight reel in the advertisement.
Now she has this inner battle of going with what she knows or looking at the data readily available. I go through the same thing with my parents and my in-laws. I can't get through to them so I let them handle it how they see fit.

March 19th, NY Post and other outlets reported Italy stopped counting the dead. If countries stopped counting, we have no real data worldwide, or knowledge to build upon. UK did exactly what Brett and Old School suggested... lock up old and sick and let everyone build antibodies. Supposedly the younger people started dying. Then they did a lockdown and closed businesses etc.
Time will tell.

BBC News is also reporting that original figures were hospital deaths only, not those in nursing home or home deaths. Some of the home deaths were listed as "probable" cases, and some were confirmed but not recorded as "hospital deaths". So now the UK is trying to adjust the numbers to the higher figure.
So all of the stats in the world and debate is useless if the numbers are not accurate. The counts of the reefers being used as morgues don't add up either.
CDC info conflicts with Canada's and UK's Health Ministers info.
There are reports from China there are two strains and possibly as many as 8. That is why some people have gastrointestinal symptoms and some don't. According to the CDC 44% that are testing positive do not have the fever, respiratory, coughing symptoms... that you would expect in a coronavirus. So do they have a different strain or just something that shows positive on their test?
So if there are several strains... that would probably indeed make this worse than a flu that hits us with one paritcular strain a season then mutates over time.
Hillary Clinton suggested we all get flu shots to help us prevent this. Please explain to me how that would help. Each shot is geared yo a particular flu strain.... not any old virus.
im tired of this already. My mom is 81 and i havent been home in 2 mos. i didnt want to bring her anything, but she said screw it and told me to come home.

reported Italy stopped counting the dead
That makes no sense. They're not going to just throw up their hands and say, "Welp, too many. I'm not counting anymore."
