I've cracked the code y'all... this is all a conspiracy by the construction companies to get people off the roads so they can close more lanes on the highway!
Brett & I have been discussing some of the "conspiracy theories". Most of them are just deep rabbit holes (even the rabbits couldn't find their way home).
I was in the ER down here in Broward sunday night. Place was DEAD (as in EMPTY). They refused to test me for COVID, because I didn't meet the criteria (no fever, no international/domestic/hotspot travel, no known contact with a COVID symptomatic person) - even though they drew 10 tubes for everything else. They say I passed a kidney stone (with no PAIN, but a sample cup of urine that looked like cherry koolaid - scary stuff), nothing on the CT - nothing in the blood, nothing in the urine labs (well, except BLOOD - DUH!).
What's scary about this is, the left is URGING DJT to "take federal control" - and he's leaving it to the GOVERNORS (where he is CONSTITUTIONALLY REQUIRED TO LEAVE IT). The LAST.THING.WE.WANT - is for the Feds to take the power away from the STATES & THE PEOPLE.
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
A point he KEEPS REPEATING as the left and the press try to force his hand.
Once the power is TAKEN FROM THE PEOPLE - the ONLY WAY WE GET IT BACK, is with BULLETS (and you can take that to the bank, or the gun range - your choice). Had the "other person" got into the WH - we would have been under Martial Law by now.
But the reigns need to be loosened soon.
As I've been telling my friends: "it's one thing to not be able to FIND a roll of TP, and quite another to NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD ONE".
And if we don't get people back to work soon, many people will find themselves in this very dilemma. Fear, turns to frustration, turns to anger - TURNS TO VIOLENCE.
Fauci's motives are incredibly questionable, and his actions even moreso.
The ONLY WAY to get immunity, is through HERD IMMUNITY - and the only way to get that, is for MOST OF THE HERD TO GET INFECTED.
Will people DIE - yes, but not the millions the (faulty) models predict.
"What if someone you CARE ABOUT DIES"? I'll mourn the loss and move on.
"What if YOU DIE"? I'll consider that I "took one for the team", that it was just MY TIME, that maybe I should have taken better care of myself - so my body could fight this off LIKE ANY OTHER FLU.
"Are you going to get the VACCINE?" NOPE - I never get them. Not that I'm some wild-eyed-anti-vaxxer. I just consider that I rarely if ever get sick (probably jinx myself now), and I genuinely CANNOT REMEMBER (aside from surgeries) when I've been bedridden/laid up by a cold/flu/etc.
Interesting Article On Virus Mechanism & Treatment. The guy isn't a doctor - but I find the suppositions to be very plausible.

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Reccomended to me. Wow it almost sounds like an analogy to Corona
This is one you will find shocking. This is creepy beyond belief, but it's totally real. In October 2019 they held a "simulation" about what would happen if a coronavirus, which came from bats or pigs (they claim the real one came from bats) were to spread around the world, potentially killing millions. What would it be like? How would we handle it?
Here is a description of Event 201:
The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation hosted Event 201, a high-level pandemic exercise on October 18, 2019, in New York, NY. The exercise illustrated areas where public/private partnerships will be necessary during the response to a severe pandemic in order to diminish large-scale economic and societal consequences.
In recent years, the world has seen a growing number of epidemic events, amounting to approximately 200 events annually. These events are increasing, and they are disruptive to health, economies, and society. Managing these events already strains global capacity, even absent a pandemic threat. Experts agree that it is only a matter of time before one of these epidemics becomes global—a pandemic with potentially catastrophic consequences. A severe pandemic, which becomes “Event 201,” would require reliable cooperation among several industries, national governments, and key international institutions.
Here is a highlight reel of the event:
So yes, two months before this "supposedly" highly dangerous and extremely deadly coronavirus that came from bats spread through the population they did a simulation about what would happen if a highly dangerous and extremely deadly coronavirus that came from bats or pigs spread through the population. Of course, they claim it's just an incredible coincidence that the "real thing" happened two months after they ran a make-believe exercise.
Operating While Intoxicated
Brett,
I believe this is the one where Gates is being interviewed and says: "and we could lose 10 million EXCESS PEOPLE". Not IN EXCESS OF 10 million. But 10 million EXCESS.
Freudian slip?
Methinks not...
Rick
Not IN EXCESS OF 10 million. But 10 million EXCESS.
Yeah, it's clearly terrifying to hear outrageously rich people say things like that.
There is a fast-rising tide of high-level people and mainstream media speaking out against this quarantine. Many people, including some in Congress and the House, are saying, "Look, it's time to admit we got this wrong." Over the next couple of days, I'll be sharing some of these.
I agree with G-Town. We are super busy at the Johnstown grocery DC. They've done a good job of re-deploying us to different areas to keep up with the ebb and flow of freight as needed. I turn and burn on every trip.
You guys may be busy... but from our end... Walmart/Sams Club has canceled or turned away 3 drivers I know and me. They even paid to have Prime take the loads back to.the shippers. Out load length is being extended... and not just due to Easter.
And some states are stopping Sams and bulk stores from selling "non essential products" to.prevent crowds.
JBS in Souderton PA that i go to frenquently just closed for 2 weeks due to.positive employees. Tyson and cargill both closed one plant each.
Truck assembly lines are shut down... so.orders are on hold which is going to delay lease ops from getting new trucks, as well as trainees upgrading. Company drivers will be put in any available truck.
My friends at Old Dominion were laid off and local jobs are very scarce now.
The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.
Don't panic though, Truckin Along With Kearsey. I just spoke with your company yesterday afternoon and they're still going strong across the board. I was told every division is still going strong. You guys have no choice but to keep your trucks moving, and they will. That doesn't mean you won't have soft weeks or glitches here and there, but a company with 8,500 trucks can not say, "Oh well, things are slow. We'll park 1,500 trucks and wait it out." You must keep those trucks moving, and they will.
There will be certain areas of the industry that will slow, but they'll shift to other things. For instance, people are still eating the same amount of food but they're eating more at home and less often at restaurants. So the companies that normally deliver to restaurants are refocusing on moving food to other areas like grocery stores.
It's the owner-operators and small companies that will get squeezed out at some point. The large companies must keep their trucks moving and can operate at a small loss for a little while if they must. But they must keep making those payments and they can't afford to lose a ton of drivers. So the small losses they may incur by hauling freight at lower rates will be less painful than the losses they'll incur if their trucks are parked and their drivers go elsewhere.

That's four trucks. You guys have 8,500 trucks. That's a very small sample size. Don't sweat it. They'll keep you moving.

We've been delivering some chicken and restaurant size canned goods with the Sysco and Performance foods private labels at some of our stores. It helped us when we were sold out of chicken but also helped those companies not take a total loss from product spoiling. With everybody stocking up I've been told the big cans of fruit have been flying off the shelf with Sysco label on them. I imagine if the demand continues for the big cans that we'll start selling them under our own brand after the situation is over.
My terminal hasn't had to lay anyone off yet, we have been fortunate to stay just busy enough.
Also found out my cousin who is a nurse in a senior center is in the hospital with it.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
