6 weeks ago if I rung the bell in this get-up... they’d call the Police. Now? They’ll call them if you are not wearing a mask.

Don't worry G-Town, you look very fashionable. Red is definitely your color!

US CDC has several breakdowns on their website about many aspects of the deaths in general as well as those that are Covid-19. From Feb 1st thru April 11th there were 582,565 total deaths. Of those only 13,130 Covid-19. That comes out to a little over 2% of all deaths. Interesting.....

To anyone who has looked for the truth instead of blindly believing self-serving politicians, self-serving media, and overreacting members of the medical community, it is clear and undeniable that this was nothing more than this season's flu.

Of course, the medical community, the media, and the politicians must all try to deny that to save face, but the facts make it clear that this was a wild and devastating overreaction to an ordinary virus.

Keep in mind there is documentation showing that the death numbers from coronavirus have been exaggerated, but even based on those exaggerated numbers we've only lost 2/3 of the number of people to coronavirus that we lost to last year's flu. So it's pretty evident that this is an ordinary flu virus.

Now our attention must turn toward rebuilding our devastated economy and taking our lives back as quickly as possible from those who wrongly took them away in the first place. Yes, they're going to resist our efforts in order to save face. They must keep up the facade to protect their careers. But we're adults who are perfectly capable of making our own decisions. Big Brother and the media has done enough damage. Time to move forward.

The problem is due to the gap between opinions and facts. But what are facts? Well, that is the big question! There has to be a cool headed examination of data, taken in context and put in proper perspective before we can agree on basic facts. For that to happen people have to be honest to the purpose and not have their own political or ideological agendas for which they try and spin the facts. Unfortunately, that is absent on both sides of this crisis. (What crisis?)

Corona is not a crisis, it's just a virus that can infect people and usually cause disease and in some cases even death. The real crisis is power politics. There is no one left who is not playing politics whether knowingly or not. Whether many people die of this virus or only a few, whether the economic damage will be short lived or long lasting, those things are all debatable but will some day become clear. The only thing clear today is that there is one sure victim of this crisis, and that is TRUTH.

As far as I am concerned, at the tender young age of 66 and despite all my pre-existing cardiopulmonary 'qualification', I am a little bit more afraid of the hazards of moving faster than 25 mph with 80,000 lbs in tow, than I am of picking up a 20 nanometer strand of RNA wrapped in a protein molecule.

The real crisis is power politics. There is no one left who is not playing politics whether knowingly or not.

This has been the problem from the start. We are lacking true leaders who are willing to give people the truth and do the right thing instead of just saying the most popular thing and doing what they want for themselves.

That's exactly why I've given factual updates throughout this "crisis." I want people to look at the facts and think for themselves instead of blindly believing what they hear on the news or from politicians.

In our society, we put way too much faith in the medical community I'm afraid. The World Health Organization and many others in the medical community have been decidedly wrong about the severity of this virus, as I've demonstrated they have been many times in the past with other strains.

I'm hoping the economic devastation that will haunt us for the foreseeable future will lead to countless investigations into this fiasco so we can learn from it. But I worry that Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel's famous quote may live on in infamy:

The only thing we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history.

The media went all-in this time creating a panic, and it worked like never before, which means panic-inducing media will become even more prevalent in the years to come. Will we keep falling for it like dogs who fall for every fake throw of a frisbee?

It's ironic we like to call ourselves, "The land of the free and home of the brave" while we sit imprisoned in our homes like cowards afraid of the flu, afraid to question what we hear on television, and afraid to speak up about this overreaching power grab that has stifled our lives and destroyed our economy. It seems we've become soft and gullible.

Folks, if nothing else, please do not blindly believe and repeat what you hear on television. Look into it for yourselves, think for yourselves, draw your own conclusions, and have the courage to speak your mind. It's far less devastating if some of us are wrong once in a while than it is for all of us to blindly follow the herd and let the wrong people lead us off a cliff.

Got called off today for the first time since this thing started. Seems like last week we had less freight as well, seems like we don't have a lot of freight coming back lots of drivers returning with empties.

Right after reading this I got a call that the customer I was hauling tankers to twice a week got hit with corona. So they will be done till May 3rd. And our freight in general is done 30 percent as of this week.

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

Just a reminder...

Go back to page one (44 pages and 6 weeks ago) and look how we laughed at the OP.

Manipulation, hoax - whatever (and the FLU is real, the REACTION TO IT IS WAY OVERBLOWN).

Look where we've come in 6 weeks.

Citizens "rebelling" against their governors draconian/capricious lockdown protocols. Another 4 trillion in government debt. Political shenanigans and finger pointing/blame-casting (love the $20K Freezers there Nancy Antoinette - "let them eat ice cream" she said).

Remember where we were 6 weeks ago - GOD ONLY KNOWS where we'll be SIX WEEKS FROM NOW.

Huge thanks go out to my fellow truckers for keeping things moving in America. Don't know where America would be WITHOUT US/Y'ALL - and hopefully THEY GAIN SOME DAMN APPRECIATION FOR US NOW.

KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK!

Rick
