I bet Old School's head is spinning to the extent that in this competition, we are both encouraging our competition:

Rob D. I appreciate that, as I do the groundswell of support here! FYI... I am rooting for you!

But after watching Ford vs. Ferrari, there is something to be said about friendly competition that involves taking your foot off the pedal so that you can cross the finish line together.

I doubt that you will need to take your foot of the pedal because you will be so far ahead of me come July. However, if we both reach 100,000 miles of safe solo driving, by July 2021, I'll consider that crossing the finish line together.

Keep on keeping on. I am right behind you.

That's assuming I don't spot you months or miles!

Interested in a fair competition!

But like they used to say when doing track days on motorcycles...

It's not a race. There are only losers... no winners!

When we both get there... we both win!

Couple of steps closer...

Smith System in a van went fine.

Drive (not a test) in a big rig went GREAT!

Couple of really tight / narrow R. turns. NAILED 'EM! Trainer said "whoever trained you did a great job!" "You did great." "You did FANTASTIC!"

Of the last 7 in the last 2 weeks he said only two of us didn't hit a curb!

Couple of guys already going out with their OTR Trainers. Jason is heading to Long Island, though he was sitting in the wrong seat!

Andrell is waiting here but his trainer is supposed to be here.

Waiting to hear plan for me...

Could be backing till my Trainer arrives. We can use docks at "the farm" (Wiers Farm) down the road to practice. They own 3,000 acres around here, as well as a farm in FL.

Apparently Walmart loves us / them as they can get vegetables from the field to the store in a matter of days!

We apparently also still haul large containers of paint. Tanker endorsement may come in handy here too!

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

Quick update...

Sitting in the Driver's Lounge @ HQ. Turned in my fuel and toll receipts for trip here. Laundry done. Hotel stuff somewhat organized... not sure where Trainer is or what plan is just yet but I am confident they have a plan and will share it at some point. It may just be "This is your trainer." Make a plan (checkout of hotel, be ready to go @ nn:nn here)...

It's all good! Like Jeff (head of training) said... "You have to be flexible in trucking!"

Thanks Pack Rat.

Yeah... that was mentioned last night.

I will try not to hit any cats, especially black ones, or to drive under ladders lower than 13' 6"!

Marc, please define a “fake” Qualcomm message.

Remember; if it’s not in writing, “it” never happened. Follow up every conversation of substance with a corresponding free form QC message. Impossible to refer “back” to a conversation.

Good luck Marc...stay focused.

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.

That "fake message" thing threw me at first too. Then I remembered that Brett once mentioned he'd used "false messages" from dispatch in order to get his appointment times moved up.

And that, my friend, is why you are the RealDiehl!
