Any way you could get your deposit back, and go company? Prime isn't the only steed in the pasture; they (and their sister companies) seem to be the most strict when it comes to 'work history.' CFI on the other hand; I hear not so much. Western Express, easier yet. Just my 2cents....I try!
How long does it take to get back ground checks etc. and the potential hiring company to get back to me letting me know-- lets move onto next step ?? I have a concrete truck parked on my chest. I know I am jumping the gun--- for I put my apps in starting Sunday and today is the end of Tuesday nothing other than the initial response they had received my app. 62 years old??? driving for Uber/Lyft as soon as car goes kaput STREET!! The concrete truck is getting heaver with each moment. LOL. I put down 2000$$ out of my own pocket and owe 6000$ more at $250/ month clip starting in 9 days. STRESSING!!! ???
APU:
Auxiliary Power Unit
On tractor trailers, and APU is a small diesel engine that powers a heat and air conditioning unit while charging the truck's main batteries at the same time. This allows the driver to remain comfortable in the cab and have access to electric power without running the main truck engine.
Having an APU helps save money in fuel costs and saves wear and tear on the main engine, though they tend to be expensive to install and maintain. Therefore only a very small percentage of the trucks on the road today come equipped with an APU.
