I know those types of billets, they're smelted in various places, one of them is the smelter down in Invercagil here in NZ, they actually built a hydro plant especially to attract the smelter company to invest and build the smelter here in NZ and make jobs oh so many decades ago.

The poor lady however, you must have terrified her :D

As to they oysters, I've had them chargrilled like mentioned, not here in NZ where I like the raw with a little lemon, but in China where I don't trust the freshness or hygiene enough to have shellfish raw.. They ARE nice chargrilled with blended garlic brished on!

We used to sell raw Oysters at my Dad's restaurant . . . we called them "Snot on a half-shell." do you REALLY eat those things??

Raw oysters? Hell yeah, Rip them off the rocks knee deep and pop them standing there, slurp them down and toss the shells, reach for another few...

No seasoning but salt water.

Nice.

Kina (sea urchins to you) on the other hand, Nope, I can't stand something that tastes like salt paste with a salt garnish and dipped in salt...

I like oysters....any way ya fix em...raw, smoked, grilled, boiled, sauteed, or oyster stew/soup/dip.....If it comes out of the ocean, I"ll probably eat it.....fresh water.....not so much....

This "Bubbette" was born and raised on the left coast.....I just have an affinity to any type of ocean edible.... and oysters...well...they are just yummy
