I wouldn't be doing the jumper cable thingy...I'd hate to explain to the company why my truck burnt to the ground when a jumper cable shorted out on the battery box and blazed me... Crock pots come in a 12 volt version, I believe. But alot of folks use the Burton cookers...thats what we used ,and cooked about everything in it...

Oops Starcar I forgot not everyone has electrical common sense. Meaning only have the inverter with cables hooked up when stopped and for God sakes put an in - line fuse between the inverter and the batteries. The fuse will pop and break the power connection before a fire can happen.

I still thinks it's a brilliant Idea for everyday lite type use just makes sense to have the ease of the connection and of course safety precautions should be considered as well as the simple convenience
