FedEx ground needs help. I'm going to be a package delivery driver for the time being. I'm fine with it because it gets me off the dock and my driving time has tapered off to once or twice a week by volunteering for weekends. Otherwise, it would be nonexistent
I always thought it would be fun to try for a week if the weather was good, but beyond that I'll stick to hooking a set for my workout.
At least they have some work for you, hopefully it pays pretty well.
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

Packages delivery to individual houses?

I'll be making my hourly rate. 23.08 an hour with overtime after 8 hrs.

Yep, your local FedEx ground deliveries in a stepvan. A bunch of chewy and Walmart boxes to homes.
Good luck with that! You couldn't pay me enough to attempt that for a couple of days. I really admire the delivery drivers.

Boy I'm going to be so sore when I go back to Sysco
I wish I could get a furlough! I’ve got a lot of stuff at home that needs taken care of.
I finally took off the rest of this week, I’ll be back on the road Saturday. Otherwise I have been running like crazy.
Well, for me it has been a disaster. It is a small division of cardinal logistics and freight has collapsed. And to make matters worse they recently lost contracts and never found a replacement for the lost business. They released all the Owner/Ops. And are turning in lease trailers as fast as they can to get them off the books. The only account they have running is a small PODS group of a dozen drivers, and tire loads from Tire kingdom, and a dozen flex drivers that work short term contract, and 6 box trucks delivering windows and doors. And what loads the do get they are brokering them out at $1/mile. So out of 200 drivers they are down to less then 50. It is ugly and the office staff is very toxic. Not a good place to be. I asked if they would furlough me as I ran the Midwest which evaporated and is gone. Last week they said no , you will run wtf I tell you to run and the sent me to NYC with a tire load. I got put on a load for this week again for NYC and New Haven CT. After being yelled at and cussed at.. I said No thanks, I quit.. It has been a very ugly week with just disdain for a job I used to love. And the kicker was when I turned my truck in today, " you cannot quit.. your fired" The place is bleeding money.. Its gonna be a nasty downward spiral.
We're still super busy, got word yesterday the HOS Declaration got extended so we have about another month to run wild. We still operate our logs as normal but I add a remark about it being relief supplies if it fits the criteria that day. In our company newsletter yesterday it said that sales at the store level are up 17% which obviously means our distribution numbers are up. The Convenience stores we operate had 40 stores shatter records for in store sales with 35 of them having an increase of 300% of in store sales despite gas sales being low. The state of Iowa is about to reopen everything so I'm sure it'll calm down once people can go out to eat again. Personally we took the family out to eat the day they reopened in this area.

I enjoy doing package delivery, I think it's fun. I would do it full-time if I could do it under the FedEx umbrella and not under a contractor.
I would do Express at my current rate of $28 and change. I did it for a year but they were cheap. Never got hours and pay was never over $16
Doesn't matter - I'm furloughed :)
