I’m thinking that is for someone coming in with some experience already. I looked through their website and really didn’t find an answer. No matter what the stated length is they will go by the trainers recommendation on length as a general rule.
When I graduated cdl school I spent 9 days with a trainer. He recommended I test out and I passed. Here is your truck. Yes it can be a bit unnerving.
All these carriers want drivers on the road as quick as possible. That is how they make money. All they are looking for is basic skills to get started. You will learn most things by OJT by yourself.

Thanks, PJ Sounds like I'm in for a very interesting first year. The recruiter said things have changed because they are low on mentors... My guess is that it's virus related. But she said one week at their Brooks, Oregon terminal and that they've set it up to be all on site. I have to pass my CDL test first, anyway lol... And that's in 5 hours.

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

I've been told by a recruiter that they are now doing a one week mentorship in Brooks, Oregon for May Trucking... Recent CDL grads. If that's true then I can't help but to be nervous about it. At CDL school I'm only learning how to pass a test. Then at May Trucking for 1 week and off on my own? Sounds crazy and slightly dangerous. What will I have learned in a week? If somebody has some insight I'd appreciate it very much, thank you
