My clutch made a clang sound and went to the floor. i might want to move the truck a bit (stranded at a pump). The owner of the truck thinks i could start engine in first to move to side of ramp. Will this work with a loaded trailer (44,000)?

Someone will be here to pick up load but not untill tomorrow

If i do try to start in gear with the load; is that going to damage the truck? Owner of the truck wants me to move it that way to save a tow charge if they won't let me stay here long enough (they probably won't, but haven't noticed me yet... four pumps, service area on i95).

I had that happen to me, going down the road...went to downshift, it let lose, caught me in neutral...had a full load on, a 2 land road with no skirt....I jammed it in gear and made it to a dirt road to pull off. When the mechanic came out, he used a ZIP TIE to put it back together...I dumped my load of grapes, but I was at the shop the next morning, made em put it together right....
