Tortuga - correct Rat pack they look thinner the in the pic than they are . 2X10s. I got the neighbor wornking in some 4x’s and cutting angles. I agree with the position, this was just to get me to the dc. Fixing them in a few minutes after I bobtail. Parking at a crappy store tonight so we will see if they work or not.
"Bobtailing" means you are driving a tractor without a trailer attached.
Man I’m tired . Doesn’t feel like my last 34 gave me enough time to recover. Unloading 5 trailers a week takes it out of you for sure. Good news is I Just found out my account was given an 8cpm pay bump! It def made that last pay check look a lot nicer! I started at 50, was given 1cpm at around 3 months and now that has us up to 59! To take advantage of this though you got to kind of hustle. If you are slow at unloads and don’t push they will only give you short loads which isn’t good mileage. We run 5 states but if they can’t trust you to get it done you will get the crappy runs. With that being said , being trusted is great but damn they will push you to the limit if time and endurance as long as they know you will get it there legally. Last Friday I got home, sat on the recliner, opened a beer, woke up about 6 hours later and had to pour out the still full, warm , flat beer lol
Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.
Congrats on the pay bump, Awesome!!!
Yep short runs or regional like you do takes it out of us mature folks. I generally run 2 loads a week and average 2000-2500 miles a week and its is pretty easy. This week I told them to keep us close. 300 out and 300 back. We’ll run 5 loads this week and I’m already feeling it. We should finish up thursday, but friday I won’t be worth much.
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.

Takes a long time to unload those tanks by hand, PJ? Bucket or a ladle?

LMAO, depends on the location
Congratulations on the pay increase. From what I've read here on your thread you've earned it.
Got my first level 1 inspection today. Passed with ease but I was running late and really needed to get down the road. But hey what can you do
Also got something encouraging in my emails
Since it says September I’m assuming I didn’t win but it was nice to be nominated. I had no clue. It has been a rough few days so that was a nice little pick me up
I'll call that manager tomorrow and see if it was some sort of mistake.
Seriously though, a big congratulations on your nomination! People are taking notice of your sustained superior performance! Great work!

If it were me, I would get four, 2" X 6" boards, each being 30" in length, instead of anything that's a 1" X ... Those are too thin.
Those are going to get pinched in under a week where you have them. Your straps are going to get sliced by the leading edge of the trailer. Try to get them as low as possible, and as close to the sleeper as possible.
