Truck Microwave Recommendations

I'm trying to track down a microwave that will work well in my truck considering the space size and the wattage considerations of my truck. My company told me that the inverter in the truck goes up to 1000 watts, although obviously you don't want to really push the limits on that.

I was shopping around at Wal-Mart and found a $50 microwave that is only 700 watts and 0.7 cubic feet, so it should fit nicely in my truck.

Before I go out and buy that though, I thought I'd ask if anyone on here has a microwave that they would recommend and that they use in their own trucks.

Thanks in advance.

I'm curious about this as well. I'm only driving day cabs now and out for 3 days max. My company puts me up in hotels, but I plan on going OTR soon.

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

Day Cab:

A tractor which does not have a sleeper berth attached to it. Normally used for local routes where drivers go home every night.

Sounds like the one I have for my truck that I got at Walmart. Wally world will be your best friend on the road, good selection, good prices, great parking most times.

I actually have a 900-watt microwave that's about two years old. With a 1000-watt inverter, do I need to be concerned about burning the truck down or need to watch out for anything?

That's the one I have in my truck... the brand is Rival. Don't use it without have the trucking idling, and unplug it when not in use.
