Welcome Mike, if you haven’t already checkout the training diaries section. I think there are a few very detailed Roehl accounts there.

Well guys, I passed my phone interview with Roelh today. Tomorrow I’ll do the DOT medical and CLP test. If all goes well, I’ll be starting at Roelh next month. Keep your fingers crossed!

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

CLP:

Commercial Learner's Permit

Before getting their CDL, commercial drivers will receive their commercial learner's permit (CLP) upon passing the written portion of the CDL exam. They will not have to retake the written exam to get their CDL.

Congrats!!! 🎉🍾🎈

Roehl has been a good choice for me. Not sure how I missed your post earlier. I can tell everything my recruiter told me came to pass. My first couple months solo were fairy slow. But once they learn they can trust you to be safe and on time. They’ll keep you moving.

Best of luck. Keep us posted on your journey.

Roehl has had many people that were pilots before coming truck drivers, I know because I am one of them😁 it’s actually becoming More common to see . After Riddle and Phoenix east and the really bad economy in 2006-2008 my wife’s cancer came back and she had a green card (No help from gov if you come in the right way) so I just couldn’t make any money and had to take her back to Japan and a buddy of mine (dot officer) talked me into becoming a truck driver saying I would make a good deal more money and he was right.

I am now a company owner

There is one thing I would say “get it in writing “ for everything you want such as guaranteed reimbursement of reserve paid parking (wherever you decide to go just remember recruiters lie) Rick no longer runs the company and its all the same big company rules that you already understand.
