Take a look...
Close, but no windshield hits. Have had plenty hit the top of the cab. They make one helluva thump. Had a large black bird hit my A pillar, just barely missed the glass. Had another bird hit right in front of me just a hair below the windshield. I honestly thought he was coming through the glass into my face, but luckily hit low enough not to damage glass. Also had one fly by low and hit directly on the deer guard. That was a bloody feathery mess.
Watch out for buzzards feeding on a dead animal. This happened ages ago. I was hauling drill pipe to west Texas . Came up upon a flock feeding on a dead animal in the road. I figured they'd get outta they way in time. I guess they like to play chicken. Three of them lost.
Never with the Semi but I had a wild turkey hit the passenger side of my pickup and smash the windshield and I was not traveling over 10 mph at the time so it was all bird. And no it did not kill the bird.
3 Birds in my 2 years, First was a roof hit when I was driving in Dallas, accelerating wind off a dump truck pushed it over and bounced off the roof extension. 2nd was a few months ago, I 87 northbound in NY, one bird cleared my truck by inches, the second one found my drivers side fairing. Third was when I was taking PA 54 to PA 901 headed to Pottsville (My home location for my new company, Tyson BTW, is just down the road from the WM DC there) from Pittsburgh. 2 birds one slipped between the pillar and mirror of my T680 the second bounced off the lower left corner of the windshield.
Hot a crow on I80/90 in Ohio, a couple of small birds elsewhere and a few hit above the windshield. Don’t use the wipers after, makes a mess.
Hit the largest swarm of bugs I’ve ever seen all the way through northwest MI. Sounded like birds hitting the cab. Windshield was a mess. Stopped for the night and the smell almost made me throw up

I've hit a few birds and I always feel terrible. Nothing I can do but for some reason very distressing.
