Have you thought about what company you want to work for?

double-quotes-end.png

double-quotes-end.png

Well i used the Paid CDL Training Programs link and it applied me to Prime Inc., CRST, and Wilson Logistics. The applications is also connected to my Driver Pulse tenstreet app. So far CRST is interested in me despite a somewhat slow response through text. Not quite sure what to do next.

Have you seen this link, with 'individual' company reviews, that Brett put together? Also... Millis has a 'direct' app link on here, and I know they are currently hiring; a gal pal of mine is leaving this week heading their way, with her CDLP.

Trucking companies: Reviews and more!

I've been following you; and wishing you well. Happy 'early birthday' by the way ~! (My husband's is today....and we can't 'do' much due to this Covid crap, so... chilling and this! LoL.)

good-luck.gifgood-luck-2.gifgood-luck.gif

I've seen a few reviews on there. Thank you for the future birthday wishes. Since then, I have added Swift and KLLM. Didn't include Millis because on the paid cdl review, Colorado was included as one of the hiring areas. Best wishes to your husband with Millis and his birthday among the covid nightmare. I am curious if the covid is the reason why not many recruiters are attempting to contact me. But then again i read on another thread that it would be a better idea if i start the initiation and get the ball rolling.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Error: Meant to say Colorado was NOT included as one of the hiring areas.

LoL... all good, I knew what you meant.

ps: My husband doesn't drive for Millis; he's local driving with Don (look him up) on here, in Ohio...for FAB.

A female friend of mine is setting off next week with Millis, from Ohio.

And YES, with this 'Covid crap' .. hiring areas are switching up, all the time. Example, Kearsey posted awhile back, that Prime just started hiring from Florida again.

Websites are not 'hyper' accurate, in this marvelous 2020 conundrum, just saying!

Couldn't hurt to apply, call, etc~! HAVE YOU LOOKED INTO CFI? <<< Read Big Scott's posts and diaries. He worked there, became a trainer there, and had to take medical time off, and he's straight back in the saddle. I've got nothing to say but good on them.

(The Don guy I mentioned above, got HIS start at CFI, now works intrastate (well, local...) same as my husband's company.)

Recap: THANKS for wishing my man a Happy B'day; and future one to you~!!!

Best wishes;

Anne . . . :)

Intrastate:

The act of purchasers and sellers transacting business while keeping all transactions in a single state, without crossing state lines to do so.

I got bad news. shocked.png I call recruiters this morning, here's what happened: Swift-Knight wants 3 years of work experience. KLLM doesn't hire Colorado, only a few states. CRST is team driving, i want to go solo soon. Prime still hasn't respond but will try later. Wilson Logistics wants 12 months experience. No work history has put me in a hole and i may consider other driving jobs before coming back to reapply. Any suggestions on what other driving jobs i may take like shuttle and passenger bus to build work history? confused.gif Thanks all.

Have you tried CFI ?!?!?

Well CFI tried to help me but i'm out of hiring range. The only area they hire out of Colorado is Denver and Boulder. I even contacted Scott on Facebook and he told me he begged on my behalf. Good guy for trying as well as whoever call me from CFI. But on the bright side I did get contacted by a CDL truck driving school about 20 miles away with loads of information on their school. I could even apply for what is called a WIA. May try that route and then move to a more desirable location and then reapply to CFI and many more.

Well, dang...that sux. Sorry to hear that. Don't recall, but have you tried Millis? They've been actively hiring lately. The app on here (not the catch'all application but the stand alone Millis app on Trucking Truth has helped a MANY as of recently.)

Just a thought; what a bummer. I'm still 'thinking' for you. Would much rather see you go 'company paid' than private school.

Try the 'stand alone' for Millis; call them, both~!

ps: What about that 'long forgotten aunt/uncle in Boulder? Or the cousin in Denver ?!?!?! ;) (Wink Wink.... :*) )

I'll try to call and try out Millis. Anyways, i tried for the last two day to see if i can get WIOA grant but was told it was only for dislocated people. But the person on the phone told me to get into contact with Schneider. My only problem is that there's no review for them but read that they send you to school. I'm wondering about transportation, lodging, and meals.

WIOA:

WIOA - Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (aka WIA)

Formerly known as the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), the WIOA was established in 1998 to prepare youth, adults and dislocated workers for entry and reentry into the workforce. WIOA training funds are designed to serve laid-off individuals, older youth and adults who are in need of training to enter or reenter the labor market. A lot of truck drivers get funding for their CDL training through WIOA.

Yeah, they are getting 'stingy' with the WIOA grants here, as well. I'm not even sure about SNI anymore; I do know they've changed things up quite a few times in the past. Sans review(s) for Schneider online, I would just call them, have a nice chat, and have a list of questions for them in front of you, that you are requesting they answer VIA EMAIL . . . so you have it documented!

Still wishing you well. Let us know on Millis, as well.

Best to ya~!!

Anne :)

Just a note, I found out that CRST is team driving. I ruled them out for that. FYI
