Do not go through CDL school. You may not get hired and will have to do schooling over later. I don't know any companies that wont require a 3 year work history. That may be a big hurdle. Good luck

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Have you thought about what company you want to work for?

Well i used the Paid CDL Training Programs link and it applied me to Prime Inc., CRST, and Wilson Logistics. The applications is also connected to my Driver Pulse tenstreet app. So far CRST is interested in me despite a somewhat slow response through text. Not quite sure what to do next.

Yellow Wolf, I think maybe you are confused. When they say they want 3 years work history, they mean just that, "work" history, any job, not just driving jobs.

I was under the impression that it was any job.
