I showed up to my first 3rd party delivery this morning and was given a ball cap, sunglasses visor clip, and a reusable shower bag. Real nice gesture but maaaaybe instead of doing all that they could get us out of here quicker smile.gif . 3 hours to unload 8 pallets, then have me pull out of the door and need to check in for my pickup now I'm waiting on a door for that. I also have 2 other pickups I need to do then drive back from Minneapolis. Brightside is I got a nap in. I definitely needed that, it's looking like it'll be a 17-18 hour day. Emergency declaration for Covid was extended for us until the end of the year so atleast I'll make it back home tonight.

Doesn't take that long if you do it yourself.

Haven't gotten anything from shippers or receivers yet but did get an email from the company that we are getting $50 in our paycheck this Friday and to come by the office to pick up a goodie bag. smile.gif

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.

I've unloaded plenty of times myself and it definitely gets done quicker. Unfortunately nearly everywhere I've done it no longer allows us on the dock due to covid. They didnt even need to downstack anything just take the 8 pallets off. Charged me $60. Atleast they didnt charge me over $400 like Sysco last week for a couple pallets.

I can assure you I profited quite nicely from that

It ended up taking an additional 2 hours to get the 1 pallet I was picking up. Total time spent there was about 5 hours, the other 2 pickups each had me out within 15 minutes of arriving, including checking in and out. By the time I clocked out I had 18:07 today. Definitely not a route I wanna take again unless I want to stay out overnight after the declaration is over.

Our management slipped a 6 in 1 tool in our lockers and a $15 gift card to our grocery chain. I received an email this afternoon we get our vacation time on the 27th for the year, just shy of 4 weeks! I gotta work saturday - monday then I'm off for a week woohoo!

Been awhile since I've logged in for real here. I just wanted to say from one trucker to another. Thank you to all you freight haulers & tankers traveling state to state keeping everything rolling!

Here's my Driver Appreciation Week saga:

Got a letter yesterday from the insurance carrier telling me that they extended by Short Term Disability through the 28th. Nice of them, since that's the day I get to go back to my MD for followup visit. Also included in the letter is an ever increasing list of things they need in order to consider extending it further. Not bit ching, the outfit has been good to me throughout this process. MD won't let me go back to work without restrictions yet, and work won't take me back with restrictions, so I'm staying at home and losing my mind.

So, for all yall out there doing that thing for me and mine (hauling all of the stuff that keeps the world turning, whatever that stuff is that you're hauling it's keeping the world turning) "I appreciate what you're doing!"

Wow, and YEP, sure HAS been awhile~!! I'm just a trucker's wife, and I thank my man everyday more than once for his contribution to this logistic (nightmare of an?) infrastructure. Yessir. I'm stepping in here tonight, to round out the week, and thank EACH AND EVERY one of y'all. Seriously. Been wifey to this industry for 20 plus years.

Kemo, how have YOU been ?!?!? Still on, or off the road these days? We can sure cheer from the sidelines; I know I SURE DO~!! thank-you-2.gif

As far as TDAW . . . . idk if FAB did ANYTHING for my man..haven't seen any caps (nor gowns, mugs (but for his face, lol...)) t'shirts, coolers, nada. Maybe the paycheck/ paystub will reveal ?? (I've got a cache of FAB hats if anyone needs a ball cap. Maybe he DID get another one and purposely forgot to tell me?!?!?)

@ Don .. any intel ?!?!? (<<<<<<<< He's been there not quite as long as my husband, yet totally knows more, haha!!! )

@Rob T., you never cease to amaze me; with your zeal and zest for trucking, life, and being a great husband/dad to your crew at home. I sure hope you made it through that 16 exempt 'plus' exempt. Hubby has those, also. He's 'essential' as is Don, hauling boxes for y'alls groceries to be packaged into! (Waiting for the ole guy right now, haha!) <<< Tom, my guy! Not Don .. sorry! LoL..

@PackRat ... I hear y'all are getting a 6cpm bump next month in honor of Driver Appreciation! That's awesome, man. My nephew in NY drives for triple C, so I get some 'intel,' haha!!

Be safe, y'all. This 'cheerleader' in the bleachers is always a'caring!!!

ps: to a bunch of y'all... @PJ . . . do YOU nose in your hood, at truck stops, or mostly just do rest areas? Just wondering. No end caps, I'd presume, haha! Wish you and the missus (to be) the best, always. Did y'all gift one another for this week of appreciation ? (G'rated of course, haha!)

@Old School, I sure miss you and your proverbial advice in your seemingly 'subtle' way.. you sure have the power of the 'pen,' per se!

@G Town (my hyphen button doesn't work, so I sure hope this tags you...) You've been quiet, and I do understand the why's.. I sure hope things are going SUPER well for you, man. I love reading your 'tough love' you dole out. I'd love to hear what Swift/Knight via WalMart did for y'all ~!

@Turtle ^^^ You could chime in, as well ~!! <<<< gifts? Goodie bag? Just wondering!

@Kearsey / Rainy gets rewards on a regular, so .. there's that, haha! (ya know ILY girl....!) Did Donna get gifts? How'bout Gary?!?

@Susan D. . . . any perks from WST?

@Rob D. . . . chime in as well, new knuckle man! Love reading your stuff!

@Andhe78 ... you amaze me, how quickly you've climbed up the ranks of this lifestyle. Your tank wash info was regal. I appreciate that. I hope your current company has done YOU something special, as well!

I know I'm forgetting to NAME many folks, ie: JuiceBox , AmishCountry, Dan F. , Sid V., Tim F. , .... I'll run out of character count if I keep on scouring the ole' brain, and/or the forum, haha! Y'all get the point.

(Also, to y'all newbies, up and coming: ie: Uncle Rake (Raif) , Bubbles , Verminator, Glenn , et al . . . you are included, as well!)

I just want to thank y'all . . . ALL y'all. It's all I can do from my keyboard, but I thank each and every one of you...and that's my contribution to 'appreciation week,' drivers ~!!!
