There is no official way of doing a pretrip. The tester has a checklist and you have to check a certain amount of components to pass. Some things like missing the fifth wheel connection is an automatic fail. Daniel's pretrip is one of the more efficient study guides I've seen.
The website of the state you will be taking the test will have a downloadable study guide with the pre-trip. If you are at a truck stop in the area where they sell paper logs and other truck supplies the back of most paper logs have a pretty good pre trip checklist also.
Your school should have something to use. You can also find it in the front of the Rand Mcnally Road Atlas.
Thank you all highly appreciate it. I downloaded my California CDL handbook for 2020-2021 and found what im looking for plus much more. Great replies! 😀🥂

Hello, good evening. I'm currently still studying for my CDL training and one thing I know I need to have memorized is the pre-trip checklist since its a vital part of the testing.
Is their a full pre-trip checklist document available? That I can study and memorize(the official one)
Thank you in advance.
