Yup, Guyjax...theres a huge bunch of trucker songs out there that are really great....Teddy Bear, Phantom 309, alot of them.
There is nothing in the world like Red Sovine! Every so often I would pull out his tunes and they always had such a profound effect on me. They really help put in perspective the idea that you're part of a long tradition of truck drivers going back many, many years. Some of the most enjoyable music you'll ever find.
I'm not from your guys' generation so needless to say I was never introduced into this type of music. But I will admit, I love trucker songs.

For me, knowing the history of the things in my life adds so much richness to everything. I love knowing my family history. I love knowing the history of Western New York where I grew up and will live out my years. And I loved knowing the history of the trucking industry.
I think more than anything it really helps me appreciate two things:
1) How good I've always had it
2) The blood, sweat, and tears that generations of people before us endured to build our world up to what it is today with so many luxuries and endless opportunities.
The old trucker songs are awesome and the history of the trucking industry is fascinating.
Operating While Intoxicated
I used to listen to trucker songs when I was a little girl. I remember those songs. My favorite song was Convoy by C.W. McCall. I would listen to it over and over until I knew all of the words....hahahahahah
Phantom 309 is an awesome song. Teddy Bear almost brings a tear to my eyes every time I listen to it.
Awwwwww Guyjax.....................There is a softer side to you!!!

Little Joe, by Red Sovine is good, too......he sure could sing a tear jerker...............

I know we have a bunch of younger people here and they have read about some of us talking about how it used to be.
If you want to know the attitude and ways of drivers in the old days I want you to go look up a song by Red Sovine called "Teddy Bear" .
Just heard this song on the radio again and forgot how great it is.
