I’m so old that I still remember the news about that heart surgeon from South Africa who did the first one
Same here Bruce... I was 16 and a junior in high school when it was done on 3 Dec 1967 by Christiaan Neethling Barnard

Laura, glad to have a contemporary here to help me remember those details. Drive safe, 700 mile a day girl!

LOL I think I'm a year older than you.
Not this past week....have been running on recap hours going from Idaho to Greensboro NC and now on my way back. Picked up this load of Mount Olive pickles going to Salt Lake and had 14.25 hours, 4.75 hours, 6.5 hours and 11 hours. So I added up the first three and divided by 3 so I'm running 8.5 ish hours. I will be roughly 175 miles shy of SLC tonight. Hoping to get off early (but not counting on it) on Monday instead of my 1800 hr appointment so I can get home, do my reset and then I can do my 700+ mile days on my way back to Greensboro again. 😉

Never would have thought that anybody with a heart transplant would be able to drive again. Absolutely amazing to me that there are several drivers here who have accomplished that.
