Hi, I was wondering if someone can provide me information / contact to rent a Semi for my CDL A road test with DPS in Dallas, Texas? I’ve been searching online but couldn’t find any cheaper options. And also, is there any third party school where I can go for skills test only? Thank You

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Try reaching out to private schools or a community college that offers CDL training. They may do testing on site and allow you to do that for a fee.

Please tell us about yourself, primarily what your goal is after obtaining your license. Nearly every reputable company that hires new drivers is going to require atleast 160 hours of schooling because their insurance requires it. Just having a CDL doesn't guarantee you a job if you dont have that certificate or experience.

Electric Auxiliary Power Units
