Everyone is different.

I try to only log 30 minutes max per day for on duty time. That's a combo of pre trip, check in/out, and fueling. Not all three are used most days, though, but usually at least two. Pre trip daily is a given, mandatory use.

Absolutely. It may be more madness to my method but for the way I run and the loads I've been getting it works. I use on duty for pretrip, fuel stops, in line at customers, check in/out and I use on duty yard move on property rather than drive time as I want to make sure I have all the drive time I can have in case traffic or whatever. I hate getting close but not having enough drive time to deliver so having to park and deliver the next morning. I do a 34 every weekend so I can afford to use a bit more on duty time since I usually have 4-12 hours left on my 70. I used to go off duty as much as possible but the way I run it doesn't make much sense. If I ran on recaps it would be different, on duty would be slim. Like I say it's either a method to my madness or madness to my method but for right now, right here it works. Also with the new rules with on duty counting for 30 minute breaks I feel less need to hit off duty even when I'm actually on duty.

Yeah I feel bad for him that it turned out this way for him but he landed on his feet running 🏃‍♀️ but not everyone’s story is gonna end the same I know this just gonna try to make the best of my e💪💪💪I’ll be finding out in about 5 days when I get my truck and 1st dispatch

0800723001604472853.jpg I just stopped for the night. Earlier I gave you some weekly miles figures. This is my 8 days. The 98.7 miles was a 34 reset. The 11.0 was after 1:00am so it will add to todays mileage when I get up and start around noon. Each day is a separate load. So the miles are definitely there. Keep your head up. I know it can be disheartening learning about Georgia Mike changing companies and all.

Yo just so yall know I understand going to western. Listen to these guys this place will give you some great training. I tried to make it a year. The sliding pay scale and broke down trucks and trailers were killing me financially. Keep up the good work. Jammer i was worried about telling you I was leaving WE because i was afraid it would discourage you. Keep those wills turning and burning. Keep it beyween the ditches and don't end up on YouTube.

Hey y’all I’ve really got to get more confident in my driving skills in the snow I tense up to much and cause myself situations I feel this will come with time but it’s a hurdle I need to figure out more to follow be safe everyone

Hey y’all it’s been a heck of a ride my 1st week of orientation then straight to driver training ... I wanna start off with all the b.s you hear from people on the internet’s cry baby poor me complaints is just that ... if your willing to work and apply yourself the money 💰 s there so are the miles be honest with them completely ... everything me and my recruiter talked about has happened to the finest detail she has not strayed fibbed or steered me wrong 1inch we went thru my work history .. criminal back ground I told them everything this is key I told them everything... my past is pretty extensive they ran my background when I was talking on the phone next day I was told I was good to go I was on my way drug screen physicals everything was like clock work the only people that got sent home or hung up at the terminal were people who left pending cases out that popped up or thought I only smoke weed covered them !! It does not the ones who failed the physicals were literally drinking energy drinks smoking and were hung over 1 guy in particular thought it was his job to tell dm’s how stupid they were got sent home out of 50 of us 5 walked out of day 2 orientation with jobs and trainers waiting on us about6 more get held up because of demands they made on there trainers but they got situated 2 days later I’ve been from fonatana to Mississippi 2 time on my 2nd trip back to Fontana now doin my reset in Jackson Tennessee my trainer is very thorough and been a wealth of knowledge to me more to come thank you for listening lol be safe y’all Jammer

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Jammer, I'm following .. all of your posts/threads.

If there were a 'secret potion' .. I'd send you the recipe. I still get nervous riding WITH the S/O .. in the wintery mix. He's as confident as a cow in a hayfield, though. Just took time. He's taught me a thing or two (or ten?) that you AS WELL, will glean~!!!

You will get there, I believe that. Mindset. Mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. (Something like that, he always said!)

You're most welcome, Jammer!

I'm a fan . . . LoL~!!!

Was doing some reading of older threads (some of our 5'star ones from the past, that Brett may put together into a treasure trove!!! Yay!) and came across THIS one. It's long, it's epic, and it's just WOW. Moves quickly, so don't get the TL/DR panics... many MANY photos, tbh!

Check THIS out.... from our epic Daniel B. (The guy that made the phenom pretrip guide on here!)

A month of trucking with Daniel B.

Yeah, good stuff right there, man!

Keep on keeping on; and keep your head up, and on a swivel. I HATE winter driving as well; but seriously, you are safer in a rig...once you get the gist of it~!!

Leme know whatcha think, and...STAY SAFE!

~ Anne ~
