Those caves are pretty cool aren't they?

it still baffles my mind that those 25 foot pillars of rock is all that's keeping the outside world from collapsing on you. I liked the challenge but I'm thankful I had a daycab, and it'll probably be a while before I decide to go back

Pretty neat. I have just been at the entrance to the caves near Prime in Springfield
Going to one of the caves is on my bucket list. I watched a former Prime driver's YouTube videos of going in to the one near Springfield, MO.
Maybe someday...

I've heard the caves I believe you're referencing in Cartage are even tighter than KC. I'm aware of 3 in the KC metro that are like this one, 1 on the KS side in Bonner Springs is a cave but the driver backs in just slightly under the rock, and the one in Quincy Illinois. I've been to the one in Bonner Springs, Quincy, and this one. I've been scheduled to go to the others but it always seems to not make it on the truck so I've missed out. Plus apparently the one in Independence MO now requires drivers to drop it and they have a yard dog run it in.
How're things going Dean?
There are a few... Springfield, Warrenton and Carthage MO too. I have been to them regularly. I took my current student and she THANKED me for the experience

It's all good. Thanks for asking. I'm sidelined right now due to a rapid heartbeat detected at my physical this Monday. Happened just as a nurse practitioner was listening to my heartbeat. I'm wearing a monitor for a few days as a precaution. I swear it was her blue eyes that elevated my heart rate! But rules are rules.
One of these days I will shoot video of going into the caves. I’ve been to a bunch of them almost all of them in Missouri.
I hear there are some in Illinois, that I haven’t been to yet.
They are nice in the winter when it’s much colder up above😁

Anybody else been there? Today I felt like a rookie all over again with how tight it was. I showed up and called the number I was given for my door assignment because no cell service down there. The particular company inside I was looking for sounded pretty easy to get to. Go inside entrance 8600 at 2nd stop sign hook a left 2nd stop sign from there hook a right. Oh great, blindside into a tight dock. Oh well, G.OA.L. it up! Got it in just to be told "sorry, you're actually supposed to be in the 9000 entrance go back the way you came and call this number for your dock assignment". I took me probably about 10 minutes to get in that dock and another 5 to get back out, then add on the drive. It was atleast a couple miles in. Ended up getting to where I needed to be to see it's a driverside back at the first business inside that entrance. Awesome! Except not! This one would have been easier to blindside. Another 8 minutes or so with quite a few G.O.A.L. and I'm finally in. I felt like a rookie all over again. It didn't get any better when I seen a guy in a long nose freightliner hit a door a little ways down and made it look so easy. Granted, he had more room and said hes there daily but still! Total time from when I called and received my first (wrong) dock assignment until I left was 1:45 with only 28 minutes spent unloading me.
You can read theSubTropolis Wikipediapage if you're interested, it's really quite amazing. With that being said I think I'll stay above ground, rather than being 168 feet BELOW ground at the deepest.
Here's some pics I snapped
thankfully I didnt have a trailer next to me
