Dinners pass is supe pretty country
Here's a shot of Donner's Pass from several years back. The snow was deep but the plows had the roadways cleared. I always enjoyed going through there. It's a beautiful area.
Now THAT is awesome !!!! Crafty plow work too, eh ?!?!?
I thought Donner's pass was overrated until I got stuck on the west side of the mountains and went through after a two day long storm and had to drive alongside snowbanks as tall as the truck... and then I understood.

No where near as exciting as Donners pass but this was a few miles north of Des Moines on I-35.
I avoided this storm for the most part, maybe only 20 miles of my workday otherwise I had clear sailing. 45 mile drive back home in it was more of a pain. This was on the state highway that comes into town.
the barely visible lights are a snowplow i was more than happy to follow the 5 miles to town. They needed 12 drivers to work extra tomorrow but I opted to keep my regularly scheduled day off instead of going out. They bumped most routes back from midnight - 2am to atleast 6am when the store should be letting up. Up by my house it was supposed to only be less than an inch. Now they're saying 3 to 5 atleast. Oh well, beats the freezing rain and possible 13 inches they're talking in Southern Iowa.
