I started with Schneider and gotta say I was VERY satisfied with OTR , solo with 5 days off per month. The sign-on bonus wasn’t the determining factor, but it was nice.
I’m now with a southeast regional company, but would go back to Schneider if the need arose.
Big companies like Schneider can have BIG differences depending upon which Operating Center (OC) you’re attached to.
This site is where I really started.
Wherever you go, be safe, good luck and I hope this helps.
Regional:
Regional Route
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.
OTR:
Over The Road
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
