I live in sneakers/tennis shoes and have a pair of steel toed work boots for snow and mud. You will also need shower shoes. Wear comfortable close toed shoes. Most shippers and receivers require it.
The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.
I bought a pair of Skechers Arch Fit tennis shoes. Very comfortable wear all day. And they reduced my knee pain down to almost no pain at all.
Flip flops and crocs are all you need 😉😉😉

Yes, if you want to end up on Say No to Bonehead Truckers.
Actually at CFI you would be violating company policy if you wore those while on duty.
I would go with a good pair of waterproof hiking boots. They are comfy like sneakers but are technically boots. That way you stay within company policy and if a shipper or receiver requires boots you don't have to change your shoes.

Tom (hubby) used to wear those; w/Composite toe. He's gone back to Carolina's though. Warmer in the winter.

I drive in my socks. Super comfy and no mess from shoes in my truck.

I am about to go for 3-4 weeks OTR with a trainer. In my previous long driving (mostly along east coast between NH and TX) in personal vehicles and all sort of moving trucks I found driving barefoot to be most comfortable regardless of the season. Commercial driving is of course a whole other thing. So my question is - what is good to have on your feet while driving for 10-11 hours?
Honestly, I just drive in my socks. Keep a pair of boots or other footwear right next to the door.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
