Great. Glad it's going to work out. Thought my gps on phone had gone wonky.
Ok, another update. I now have the mapping feature working. So now you have the option of viewing photos:
1) Newest ones first
2) By user
3) On a map
So we're getting there!
So I'm not sure if it's because I took the picture on my phone but the pic I submitted the other day has a completely wrong time. It says it was taken a long time ago when it was taken last week. Just giving you a heads up about that. Also has anyone mentioned a slideshow feature?
BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:
It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.

The time that was sent with the image shows this:
DateTimeDigitized 2002:12:08 12:00:00
DateTimeOriginal 2002:12:08 12:00:00
That data is built right into the image by the camera you took it with. To be honest, I have no idea why it did that. You can play around with the settings a bit. Make sure you have "location sharing" or "location tagging" on because it didn't send GPS coordinates either.
But the picture looks great!

I hadn't thought of that yet but I should definitely include a slideshow option also. I can definitely do that.

Just noticed another thing for you guys to be aware of. Some of you are taking photos on digital cameras that don't have the date and time set properly so it shows the picture being taken years ago when it may have been just a few days ago.
Turbo Dan, I noticed yours did that. It shows it was taken 4 years, 8 months ago. Here's the actual data that came with the photo:
"DateTimeOriginal":"2009:06:19 00:42:16","DateTimeDigitized":"2009:06:19 00:42:16"
So your camera is showing the wrong date and time.
I'll be setting it up so you guys can edit your information for each photo anytime you like so it's no catastrophe. But if you can set the date and time properly and allow GPS coordinates to be sent (as mentioned above) you won't have to edit that kind of stuff. I'll know exactly where and when the picture was taken so I can put it on a map or a timeline or all kinds of cool stuff.
I quess I better find my Instructions, Heck my VCR is still Flashing 12:00, 12:00, 12:00

I hope you add a TON of em!!!
I'm working on the photo gallery and adding new features daily. It's coming along nicely. I have a few more features to add and a little polishing up to do and it should be really sweet!
You'll also notice now that in this forum there will be a button for each user's photo gallery if they have one. They're not hard to find on this thread....every one of us has one! So I'm hoping more and more people will send in photos.
Tagging and editing are the next things I have to get up and running. Won't take long at all....should have it going in a day or two.
And I'm going to keep encouraging everyone to adjust their camera settings if need be. It only takes like two minutes but this is a pretty big deal and you'll see why once you start adding more photos over time. The thing is, digital photos have data built right into them by the camera that takes them. I can read that data and determine the exact place and time that photo was taken. So as you guys and gals travel the country taking scenery pictures, we'll know exactly where that scenery was. Or say two of you get a chance to cross paths and meet up for dinner one day. You take a picture and now you'll always know exactly where and when that was. Or say you go to some cool events like a NASCAR race or a big festival. Snap a few pics and you'll always know the exact time and place. Then I can plot photos on a map, on a timeline, and all sorts of cool ways!
So all you have to do is:
1) Make sure your camera has the proper date and time set. Smartphones should automatically have the proper date and time so that's normally not an issue. But with digital cameras it can be.
2) Make sure your settings on your camera or smartphone allow location and date/time sharing. This will probably be under "security" or "privacy" settings. I keep meaning to go through my Android and iPhone to find those settings and post em here. Sorry about that. I will soon. Once you know how to change em it will only take you guys 10 seconds to do it and you're all set.
So set the date/time properly and allow location & time sharing. Then I can do a bunch of really cool stuff. But if you happen to have a camera that doesn't have a GPS chip, don't sweat it. I'm going to allow you guys to edit the photo information manually if you like. You'll be able to set the date, time, location, and caption. But all of that will be automated if you send your photos with the proper camera settings and use the subject line for the caption.
I mean, how cool is that???
This is such a great idea!!! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's pics!! Maybe guyjax can start the "drivers at truck stops" compared to " the ppl at Walmart" ( JK!!)

Oh I was only using Amarillo as an example. When I wrote that I hadn't even reverse geocoded your coordinates yet so that was a totally blind guess. Man, I almost guessed right! Not too bad considering it's a pretty big country!
The address for that picture did indeed show Dallas, TX. If you look at that picture now in your photo gallery you'll see the caption says, "Taken 4 hours, 50 minutes ago by guyjax(Guy Hodges) near Dallas, TX".
The time will be different by the time you view it but all of the information is accurate.
Success!!!! It's working perfectly!
