We have heard nothing but good about Prime on this board. There are a few Prime drivers that are regular contributors to the board, so maybe they will chime in...until then.. WELCOME to TT.....take a look around....its a great place to learn all you can before going to your cdl school. Try going thru the High Road Training Program And then, when you want to pick a company school...heres some helpTruck Driving Schools . I hope you stick around, I'm sure there will be a million questions you will have, if you are considering truck driving as a career.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Well, I guess the fact that you'll be driving a Lightweight truck as a company driver. It's more money but it's a much smaller truck and has less space.
Also, I highly recommend you get your permit right now. Don't wait until school. Do you have any idea how many things will be on your mind at school? About 8,623 different things! It's best to get the permit now and reduce your workload and stress later.
But in terms of cons. You'll be driving a lightweight truck, that's a pro or con depending on the person. It's a pro for me! Prime makes you pay for chains, bungees and load locks as well as about 100$ worth of other accessories for the truck. So they don't supply those materials which is a huge con. But they pay very nicely so it more than offsets that.
Thank you both very much. I have been studying on the High Road Training Program for a little while now. I have two months to get my permit and hopefully Tulsa Job Corps Center will take me to Roadmasters of Tulsa. So ready for two months to fly by.
I am in the prime psd program currently. Get your permit before you go. It makes things a lot easier on you. I got a great instructor. Prime has been great for me so far. The psd program is fast paced though.
Prime Inc has a CDL training program and the first phase is referred to as PSD. You'll get your permit and then 10,000 miles of on the road instruction.
Prime’s PSD begins with you obtaining your CDL permit. Then you’ll go on the road with a certified CDL instructor for no less than 75 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training. After training, you’ll return to Prime’s corporate headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, for final CDL state testing and your CDL license.
