Just curious . . . I've read all of the advice AGAINST leasing - especially while being fairly new - BUT I have a question . . . if a person does lease and then wants to drive team, does that second person have to come from the company? What I mean is, do all the qualification that apply to a newbie apply to the second part of a team? Do they have to go through the schooling and then the training or can you (as an O/O) train that second person and make the decision as to who they will be? Again just curious . . .

They have to be approved by the company just like you would have to be. If they are a student they would come from the company but if your running a true team truck and not training they they would be your employee which you have to pay them out of your pocket. Including issuing 1099 at the 3rd of the yead....social security and employee taxes
