Hello everyone, This is my second posting on this forum, and I would like some advice/information on the differences between driving & backing a 53ft trailer vs a 48 ft spread axle with a dump valve.
I have some experience driving / backing a 53ft from CDL school, but no real world experience (i went on the road with it 3 times, and it was in a manual truck)
Welcome back, Ryan (RJ!) It's your 2nd thread, not post, but .. all counts, so all good!!! We're full of fine folks up in here, for sure...as you are well aware.
It would be in your BEST interest, to read Turtle's diaries. First, flatbed with Prime .. out the gate. Now, WMPF .. in a van/reefer (!?!) not sure which, or when!) Here's your 'one underdog.. now ya gotta swing yourself:' (name it....) Turtle's Diary & link to flatbed/Prime
Simply go to the page where it says, "Comments by Members" .. second from the bottom. Type in Turtle (and, Rob D., acutally! He's flatbed with Prime, now.) You can actually do the blue search button that says "Search Topics by Tags" if the above 'underdog' isn't enough, haha!
Additionally, and IMPORTANTLY, Old School is flatbed with Knight/Hydro/Sapa ; not sure if he offers up any comparisons with boxes of any kind, however....i'd bet dollars to donuts, it's in his comments, LoL. He's our flatbed go'to guy, as I'm sure you know!!
Wish you well in your plight, good sir.
Keep us in the loop!
