Thanks for the suggestions everyone! They definitely helped. And as of today, I am a Nevada CDL Permit holder!

The questions on our test that I either forgot or didn't see in High Road training were about the thingamajig that turns on the brake lights (sensor or something) and the whatchamacallit that releases the air pressure when it gets to 150psi. And with that explanation y'all know why it was hard for me to get the air brakes test lol

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Woohoo! The airbrakes (like most things in trucking) is easier to understand when you actually see it in action. However, make sure you brush up on it because anything related to the air brake test during your pretrip must be 100% correct. Missing anything will result in an immediate fail. In school you'll spend a ton of time on the pretrip to get you ready. Most of us had never even been inside a truck before school. You got this!
