A couple in California learned the hard way that sometimes following the GPS leader isn’t always the best decision.

According to The Union, a couple who were following a GPS-directed detour route found themselves stranded in a nearly pond-sized puddle on Chalk Bluff Road near Grass Valley, California.

California Highway Patrol received a call from the couple at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The driver reported that his Jaguar was stuck in a deep puddle, and the water was so deep, he couldn’t get his door open. on

The 2013 Jaguar is likely totaled.

That sucks. That is the problem with many GPS systems. Any road, trail, etc. looks like an ordinary street to some systems. My truck GPS will try and send me down a residential neighborhood or on a dirt road to a shipper that is on the other side of a fence.

Looks like the road I would take with my 2013 Jag, not. wtf.gif

I think he should have added the heads-up display for that GPS.

Proof that a smart Business Sense is not equal to common sense . And that is if his money was earned . He could likely be financially stable and mentally inept

Ouch. I take pictures of those cars, and they are quite expensive. I wouldn't doubt it if the car was totaled. Guess sometimes people need to learn the hard way...

Could be? What kind-o-idget drives down an unpaved road, sees thirty feet of water ahead and says, "Oh well, the lady in the GPS box says this is the way to go." Geez, if I seen it once I've seen it a hundred time - someone with more dollars than sense . . .

a couple...found themselves stranded in a nearly pond-sized puddle

I used to love when Paul Harvey would say, "And now....the rest of the story." I always see half-completed descriptions of what happened and I like to complete them.

For this one, it should be:

a couple...found themselves stranded in a nearly pond-sized puddle after senselessly driving into the stupid thing with a Jaguar of all things!!!! Duh!!!

I like that....they "found" themselves there. Really? Makes it sound like a surprise. Something they couldn't have seen coming.

Gee, I wonder if they were using the "Garmin dēzl™ 760LMT" or the "Rand McNally IntelliRoute® TND™ 720 LM" at the time.

2 things.

Who buys a Jaguar... I mean come on. Overpriced piece of junk car in my opinion. I think that purchase was more stupid than his decision to drive into this body of water.

Secondly, CA has puddles of water? CA has been nothing short of a draught lately. Since when?
